Messed up feathers! HELP

Ok, my chickens feathers(mainly tail,wings and back) are all frayed and on some feathers there is just the main barb/shaft . It has been going on for a couple of months now. They don't have any signs of mites, a couple of lice here and there. What could it be?

A rooster can cause feather loss as you described (tails, wings and back.)
Lice cause irritation and birds will scratch out their feathers.
Finally, another possibility is feather picking. If you dont see feathers on the ground, somebody is picking and eating them. You're going to have to observe them to ID the feather picker(s.)

Thank you for there reply, they aren't missing feathers it is just the feathers are pulled apart and stuff. On the tail on one she just has the main shaft left
