messy coup

I have been trying different ways to feed to find out what's best. I know a lot of people put their girls food in the coop. I have been trying that, but it's such a mess and I'm afraid it's going to attract flies and ants in the coop. Is this best or should i just put it outside and pull it in at night? My chickens are gluten free so I make their feed and they like to pick through it causing a lot of the mess. Any help would be great thanks
How how old are your girls?
Personally I do not put their food in the coop I do put water in their coop if going to be hot.

Food in the coop has never worked for me. Also afraid it will attract mice into the coop. I found what works best for me is actually believe it or not large casserole dishes from Goodwill. I elevate them on a pallet in the runnso they’re not directly on the ground but what I love about them is they are too heavy for them to knock over which is a big problem at my house. And I always get the ones with lids so at night I can cover it so bugs and rodents don’t get it or during rain I can cover it. But I change my food daily and check it twice a day so if it gets wet it doesn’t have time to mold.

And putting a boot mat underneath their feeders I noticed helps. A boot mat has small lips on the side so when Food gets kicked outOf the bowl it ends up in the boot mat and will either get eaten by other hens and if it doesnt get eaten at least doesn’t end up on the ground to get stinky and gross

A video for making the bucket feeder with elbows

Awesome feed her instructions.! That seems like an awesome Ness free feed her. I’m afraid my chickens big heads would get stuck in them. Lol. I noticed you have a watering System made out of a 5 gallon bucket to. That looks extremely handy because no matter how hard I try my chickens love to run through their water with muddy feet. Even with the new gravity watering system I got for them I can’t figure out how they do it but they do. Chickens are crafty

The holes are very large. Mine have not trouble with them. They are large fowl breeds
