Metal roof on the coop

Hey Ed, the rest of the coop isn't done yet. There is a gate on the other side and the run. But the other side doesn't look nice because the run is a temporary ugly one I built (Building the new one tomorrow) and the other side is missing pallets. I promise to take more pics soon.

Ok. I was just wondering about ventilation...I'm not seeing an overabundance of it from the angles I've seen. What part of the country are you in?

It's got ridge vents plus soffit vents and also the window by the flower box. That should be enough. The inside of the coop is nice and cool in the summer. So I think it's good. I'm also thinking of adding a cupola on that metal roof in the near future

If you're happy then you're good to go. Different climates tend to need different setups, but they all need enough ventilation to get rid of excess moisture.

Hello fluffychick,

I realize this post about your coop is a while ago, but I'm wondering if you would be able to share some specs about your coop? The reason is that this is very similar to one that I have decided to build and I am struggling to make sure I have enough year round ventilation. Just wondering how high and wide the coop part is on each side? (not including the base) How did you ventilate? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
