metal roof, snow concerns-update new roof design

Instead of the regular type roof we did a slanted roof with the slant away from where the run will be, I love it! the outside of coop is finished, now to work inside and then the run! if I can figure out the picture thing I'll post one:/

thought I posted a pic... where did it go:rolleyes:

Thanks Pat, my DH is a tile guy so everything he does has to be level, straight, plumb.... he did a great job! I'm happy and I think the girls will be too. Once I get the inside done and then the run... it goes on and on doesn't it!

Another thing to keep in mind is the condensation on the inside that you can't ignore. Having metal or lexan is great but you have to be ready to figure out how to keep your birds dry. Plan your ventilation well and it should help as well as clear the ammonia fumes.

I had condensation with my small uninsulated coop last winter and then the frost on the walls, in nest boxes and on windows the chickens loved to peck it off and eat it

so am hopeful this insulated coop won't get frosted, the ceiling will have styrofoam board but not touching the metal roof it'll be away so air can circulate. And covered so they won't eat it!
