metal roof?

The higher the roof is, the cooler the structure will be. Just make sure there is real good ventilation.

My whole coop is made of roofing tin...sides, front and back and top. It's cooler in there with the fan on low, than outside in the shade with a breeze. I don't know how or why that is, but the chickens are still alive and I'm not eating 6 week old baby chick legs that cooked in this heat and humidity in TN lately, heh heh.
 
Something to consider... Without any plywood subroofing and insulation ... in the Winter when there is fog or high humidity,you will run into condensation on the underside of the metal. In extreme humidity times, to the point of dripping like rain on the inside of the coop.
