Meter readers and your ordinances?

I want to do this and really think it is the best option once we get to it we will actually have three chicken tractors one in each yard ..but my husband built us a chicken metropolis on the property line and it is well hidden do not get me wrong it is the most private space we have ..the ONLY person who sees it ever is the meter reader!
it is the highest point of our yard and surrounded by thick woods
or the back of our house you can not see it from the road or any other yards
the chickens echo down the hill so it sounds like they are a block away when they make noise you can not even tell where it is coming from standing in my front or back yard ..I have strange acoustics here!
thanks you guys for all the replies some our gas is remote read but the electric is still a walk in the yard to read

I will check the power bill that is a good idea ..we usually have guess when he would show up to make sure there was a path

ok two plans check the power bill to see when they are coming so I can coop them up

and get busy building portable coops

thanks

We don't even have a meter reader. When we had to relocate and were finally able to put up a fence I mentioned to the meter reader that our big dog was finally, after about a year, was going to get to come home. After that much time we were not sure what she'd be like as we left her as a puppy. He said, "no problem" and switched the meter to another type meter that would not require anyone coming out. I don't know how it works but we've never had a problem.

Seriously, the meter reader most likely couldn't care less, doesn't know what the chicken laws are and doesn't have time to snitch on all the stuff he/she comes across in the course of his/her daily activities.

Maybe you'll have to give him a dozen eggs every month to keep him quite... kinda like the chicken mafia
