Methods for Worming Chickens

Discussion in 'Chicken Behaviors and Egglaying' started by farmgirl02, Jan 8, 2015.

  1. Hello, lately I have been noticing poop spots on my hen's eggs. Somebody told me that it was because they needed to be wormed. Can somebody tell me how to worm them?

    Thank you.

Valbazen and Safeguard are the most effective wormers, and here is an article with further details. However, fecal spots on eggs is not a sign of worms. More likely, you simply have some hens sleeping and pooping in nests. There are no symptoms of worms except for tapeworm, whihch is released in rice-looking segments in the poop, or in advanced cases of worm infestation, characterized by things like weight loss, lethargy, and even death.

    Good luck!
