I think modern people have become suspicious of any food that's not governmentally regulated and stamped with official approval. We seem to need Big Brother to tell us it's safe to eat something.

BTW, I'm not against goat milk either, my cousins were raised on it- had to milk the goats themselves. You are right about Americans having an aversion to it. If people had all these aversions to basic foods 6000 years ago or even 100 years ago, humans as a species might not have survived.
