Hello I have two turkey poults and am worried about blackhead. They are in the house still and will move to an outside brooder soon. Hoping to keep them as separated from the chickens as long as possible. But in the event of blackhead I want to to be ready! Has anyone used Metroplex to treat blackhead? If so, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

The active ingredient in Metroplex is "Active ingredients: metronidazole (70%) Inactive ingredients: excipients (30%)"

Metronidazole is a recommended treatment for blackhead.

Is blackhead a problem in your area?

I am honestly not sure if it is. We live in NE Missouri and I am wanting to be prepared just in case.

Check around locally. Blackhead is not an issue everywhere. Ask at a local (not chain) feed store. They will be able to put you in touch with local turkey raisers.
