USPS is pretty unpredictable about scanning stuff in. I've had stuff arrive that never left the first post office according to the tracking...

You will get them tomorrow!

They skip scanning boxes sometimes. I've shipped things that have literally gone from label created to out for delivery. I had at least one box that the delivery person forgot to scan so it never even showed delivered (which would have really been a pain if the recipient hadn't been honest). I hope they aren't delayed by the weather. You really don't expect to be dealing with heavy snow in March.

Its so hard to wait. Ive already waited a couple month and then to have this crazy weather. Im biting my nails over here. But Im sure you are both correct. They must be on the way and hope for a delivery of live chicks tomorrow

@aart Thanks aart. I did call the post office and spoke with them on Friday and again yesterday. They are going to call me the minute they arrive. Even if its 5:00am. Freakin' March Blizzard

I am in the same boat, in 3 weeks...
My kids gave up Disneyland that week in order to be with the chicks. I may surprise them and take them outa school a day before then

I dont think so because I talked to Meyer yesterday and they said my chicks were at the post office and when they scanned it in at the post office I would receive a tracking number which I did but I I just checked this morning and it still says the same thing...that a label was created but its still in Polk, OH.  I doubt that is accurate.  I don't think the post office would keep live animals just sitting in the post office for about what would amount to 18ish hours since my label was made yesterday afternoon around 2:00.  So I think and hope they are in transit but the tracking has not caught up,  I was hoping my post office would be calling me this morning but so far nothing and is 8:00am here.  My post office only gets trucks in daily at 5:15am and 7:30am so it looks like I will probably be waiting another day  but I'm really worried as the snow is starting to ramp up now and we are expecting blizzard conditions and 2 feet of snow.  Lets update each other as we get information to help each other out Ok?

Mine says the same thing still too. I have another order coming from Cackle and I got the tracking information from them yesterday too. Their's is updated though and shows a delivery for tomorrow. Hoping with all the weather out east they make it West safe and sound!!

I'm expecting an order this week from Meyer too! I'm in South Carolina and the tracking info right now says that a label has been created but it hasn't gotten to the USPS facility in Polk, Ohio yet. It is supposed to be delivered to my work (an animal hospital), but I've called the PO to let them know they can call me if there's going to be a delay. I have my brooder ready in my car to bring in tomorrow morning just in case they come tomorrow! looks like it'll be Wednesday though since they haven't been scanned in at USPS. I wonder if it's because I opted for vaccination and that takes more time?

They make the labels before they ever stack them and take them to the PO. From what I understand, they fill allll the orders, load them in the truck, and take them to the PO with them already having shipping labels on them, rather than going back and forth with a few boxes at a time. Since their hatch day was yesterday I think they'll drop them at the PO sometime today.

Is that your areas "main" post office? For instance, there are four post offices within ten miles of me but the chicks go to the nearest "main" one (which still isn't that big) which is 11.5 miles from me. They all have weird hours : 8-noon, or noon - 4, except this one which is 8-1230, closed for lunch and then open again 230-430. I usually just send them to my work address so they go to an even bigger PO, though, and last time they did not show up there until noon and I don't think that's a normal arrival time because when my carrier picks up mail from that location she scans it at 9 am. So I guess what I'm saying is that I don't think chicks necessarily come at the normal time with the other mail for whatever reason.

ETA the day that my chicks came, the carrier brought the mail to my work address at 11am. I got a phone call that the chicks were in an hour later.

Our PO employees are in today. Even got a package and mail delivery a short time ago. So don't give up hope yet.

On a side note do you have a way to give them heat if you lose power?

I got mine within 5 days of ordering, 24 hours after they hatched. I began with 6 birds, shipped right to my local post office! There were no extras, and all arrived at 5 AM, safe, happy (ish), and completely healthy! They should be there fairly soon! Good luck with them!
