Meyer Hatchery? Also breed advice?

I bought and picked up 13 pullets from Meyer in February. At 9.5 weeks it’s looking like I indeed have 13 pullets and they are very hardy, healthy birds with sweet personalities. Time will tell on long term health and laying/meat quality but I’m very happy with my purchase so far!

Also, Meyer was so very patient with my 12,000 questions several times a week over their chat function (which is AWESOME).

I am probably biased because I do work for Meyer hatchery, but I wanted you to know that we do offer a credit if one of the pullets end up a cockerel. I do handle customers once in awhile who report them, but it does not seem to be very common. I have about 60 chicks from Meyer that I bought as pullets and so far none of them are appearing to be a cockerel so im happy as a customer as well :)

My experience with Meyer Hatchery was great, all birds lived, all were female (but they were sex links so hard to screw that up) and I had a couple extra. This was my first time ordering from a hatchery, I later found out not all hatcheries end up with positive results. What I liked best about Meyers was their website did a better jobs of explaining the breeds and had pictures of the eggs as well as chicks and the chickens.

I realize this is a couple of weeks old, but I ordered catalogs from all the hatcheries/breeders I could. Many have excellent descriptions to accompany the photos of the breeds. I read them for fun, but they could be very useful when choosing breeds. I highly recommend ordering some! They're fun to look at and free!
