I had gotten 2 blue Ameraucanas in a Meyer's straight run rare breed selections. This one had no feathers on feet, and was a lighter blue, the other was darker blue and had feathers. This was the not as friendly growing up, but I always gave her her space. She came with 15 chicks and a meal maker, and a flock protector. I kept 4 hens that I really wanted and rehomed the others. She is now 5.5 months old, 24 weeks, (Dec. 9th, 2024 hatch date) and was she checking out the nest boxes the last few days. I just put in a new one yesterday.
She decided to try out the new nest box, and the other hens were pestering her a bit...

Even with me peeking at her and taking pictures, she didn't run off and did lay a blue egg.

I candled the egg, and I could tell it had a meat spot, (blood) so I opened it so I could see it and hope that is a one time thing. Also I wanted to see if it was fertile since I have a 4 month old rooster in with her. Leave a mention of the bullseye, not the blood spot, we will ignore that pesky blood spot.
