Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

That's okay, very new at this too.

Update:
I moved the one in shock, my BO, into the coop since she would not eat or drink and kept walking to the door, like in a daze. When I went in the coop, I did my chicken call that I usually do to gather them and got the others to come out of the coop and threw scratch down like I usually do and she started pecking a little at it, ate a little wet food and a little scrambled egg and drunk water. She really needed to be in familiar surroundings. She still stands in a daze and her left eye is still shut but she ate and drank!

We went back to check on her and she actually got up on her place on the roost. She was one of the 3 who roosted on the bottom roost and the other two died so she is all alone on the roost, but she's roosting. Not out of the woods yet, but better. If we kept her inside, she would have starved herself.

The 2 injured BR's are best buddies too, I let the one that can move walk around and she went to lay beside her more injured sister.

They'll be moving to the coop tomorrow, but I'll separate them inside for a few days. The more injured BR may not make it until tomorrow, but there's still hope for her since she is trying to move and is eating a drinking.

Hope all of you have a good night and thank you for listening and your concern.

My husband told me I better go to bed, he caught me in time, I was about to feed our dog chicken feed. Oops!
I think I am exhausted.

I am glad you were able to get them to eat and drink. That is definitely a start. I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight.

Maybe your BO has turned the corner and being with the other girls will help her recover. I'm hoping your BR makes it through the night; maybe she just need a little more time to heal.

I haven't updated any photos of my girls is a while, so I went out this afternoon and took some pictures. They will all be 8 weeks old on Sunday. (Sorry some of them are kind of blurry. My camera has been pretty wacky lately)

Amber - (Easter Egger)

Lizzie - (Golden Campine)

I love Amber's color and Lizzie has the prettiest face!!! They all look great!

Thank you!! These two are actually my little trouble makers. I also think that Amber might end up being a cleaned face EE. She is almost 8 weeks old and she still has no sign of a beard. I guess we'll have to see!
I have a clean face EE also. I thought she was a little plain looking but now I like the looks of her face.

Cleo at 14 weeks:

Very pretty... hopefully you get eggs soon.

She looks exactly like my Amber, only a different color!
yup. Love the beards on EE's but the clean face is pretty too!

Lynn, I've thought about you a lot today. Thanks for the updates! It's like we're right there with you and it's hard to sit her wondering.

Well I have kept our little chipmunk alive. She seems to be getting a tad bit better. I've been able to take her out of the tea cup. She can hold herself upright but can't support herself on her feet, she sits back on her knees. She wobbles a lot but she eats on her own when I put her in front of her water/food mix. I just have to cup my hand around her to help steady her.
The surprise of the day was the Buttercup died. She was the most spunky active one and when I looked at her this afternoon she seemed disinterested. I brought her out with the other one and tried to get her to eat. She ate a little but didn't have much interest. She was dead a few hours later. :(

I'm hoping our little chipmunk pulls through!

We got our meat chickens today. I'm glad they aren't staying at our house! They are too cute. I'd get attached and not want to eat them. If we do this again I'll get the cornish X since they are so much uglier. lol
These shipped from PA instead of OH so I think they must drop ship from another hatchery. Maybe that's why some shipments ship on Wed.

Lynn, sounds like things are improving a bit. Sorry your Cochin didn't make it. :( It sounds like your BO is starting to get better now that she's eaten some! :fl Your birds will probably be pretty scared for a while, but just be patient with them and they'll come around. :hugs

MsChickenMomma, your Campines have such sweet faces. :love Mine does as well. I think it's the breed. Such pretty hens! Are yours skittish or pretty friendly? Mine has been alright with me, but I think she's spending too much time with the Fayoumi because she's starting to get skittish like the Fayoumi is. :/

trsturself, I agree. I would get too attached if I tried to raise meat birds! I've heard that they ship the ducks from elsewhere, so who knows? (Oh, wait, did you get the Rainbow Rangers or whatever they're called? I think that is another hatchery that they take orders for.)

Here is my little Easter-egger bantam boy crowing this morning. He is maturing at an alarming rate! He looks like he's already getting the pointy/shiny saddle feathers that aren't supposed to come in until 12-14 weeks old! (He is 6 weeks, 6 days old today.)
