Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

We lost the little chipmunk.
I was just saying today how far she had come. She was standing properly and eating on her own without needing support and without falling over. I went back a few hours later to give her some more wet food and she was too sleepy to eat. I knew then it was a problem. I tried to force her to eat but she just let the food sit in her mouth. She was dead an hour later. :(

I've had chicks in the house since Feb! As cute as they are I'm ready for them all to be outside! I'm done with chicks this year!
So sorry.

I understand too about being done with chicks and needing a break.

Well we saw how well the dog pen fit in the coop for Oreo's recovery, so my husband and I thought, what a perfect place to brood some chicks.

I ordered for July 29th delivery:
Black Australorp
Easter Egger
Light Brown Leghorn
Salmon Faverolle
White Leghorn
Meal Maker

Oreo ate cat food today and actually stood up for a little bit, still is week, but looks better today, so I hope so.

Big Mama still does not look like she is actually picking up the food but walks around and pecks like a normal chicken, so far she still looks big. She may be getting a little bit of food here and there. We'll see.

I may still add one of there rare egg assortments to the order too.

Hope that everyone's chicks and chickens are doing well.

I also lost Plymouth Rock Partridges from Meyer's this year. Two on my first order within 24 hours of delivery (one DOA); same in the replacement order. With symptoms similar to above. All other chicks (CX, RIR, Barred) were fine and lost none of the others which are now 5 weeks old.

I'm very glad to hear that Oreo is gaining some of her strength back. She just might pull through this for you. She sounds like she is quite the fighter.

That's exciting that you are getting more chicks, and that you were able to get a shipping date for this month. :D

I wish I had my camera with me this morning. When I went out into the coop to check on the chicks, I leaned down to pick some shavings out of their food. Then Sunni decided to jump on my back. Then of course everyone else thought it was a good idea too. I ended up having 5 chicks on my back all at the same time. The other 4 were trying to find a place to squeeze in too. All I could think was "Oh, I really hope none of you have poopy feet." Silly birdies.

Mine used to jump on me but I guess they outgrew it! I loved when they did that. So cute

I'm glad Oreo ate and stood. Both good signs! Hopefully Big Mama is actually getting some food in her and you just don't see it. Are you still hand feeding her too?
Wow... new chicks will be here in no time. I bet it will be easier in the summer months to get them outside faster and acclimated to the older girls.

Of course a rare egg assortment would be good too!!!

I got 25 pullets of the Brown Egg Layer Assortment along with 3 Rhode Island Red, 3 Buff Orpington, and 3 Silver Laced Wyandotte pullets. I wanted to make sure that I was getting a good variety of ladies :)

Here's my 2 surviving SLW girls

One of my Buff Orp girls

Rhode Island Red

And I can't help but sneek in a picture of my favorite chick (an EE cross that I hatched myself) its in the back of the pic

I'm glad you were able to get some more chicks & even more glad we had a great update with the girls!

I didn't get the black silkie but I was able to get the blue one! And even better what made my day was when I went to add the silkie to my order they had BLRWs available too! I've been waiting for them for awhile now. Now all we need is a black & buff silkie, dorking, frizzle and speckled Sussex and ill be happy!
