Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

How exciting that they are all laying. I'm sure they'll get the details figured out soon enough. How long has it been since the dog attack?
5 weeks and 2 days, I guess that's a good recovery time considering how hurt she was.
Yup, they will figure it out eventually.

I had one lay an egg in the run today and yesterday. Didn't see who it was though. Must be a new layer!
I got 6 eggs today!! And didn't get one from Izzy so I must have 7 laying. Unfortunately all were brown and I'm pretty sure Cleo my clean faced EE was one of them so that must mean she lays a brown egg. I kinda thought that was going to be the case. Don't worry... I still really like her

But I'm still holding out hope that my other 2 EE's will lay green or blue. They seem to look like more typical EE's so my fingers are crossed. Mrs. Puff my whitish EE was sitting in a nest box today but no egg and so was Junior the CM. I think Pipsqueak may have laid a little cream colored egg today but not quite sure. I'm such a proud chicken mama.
I thought for sure my BA's would be one of the first to lay from what I've read but I guess not. They still don't have big combs/wattles but they are squatting.
Trust me... I'm not complaining. I just thought they laid earlier.
That's good that you have 4 EE's. The two new baby EE's have puffy cheeks, so maybe blue or green eggs? 6 eggs a day, I will hopefully join you there by the end of August or September when Daisy starts laying too. She is 14 weeks on Monday. Wow the big girls will be 25 weeks! Time flies! and of course tomorrow, the babies will be one week. They are feathering in so much faster then both other batches. I'll take pics tomorrow.

These are my Meyer girls at 4 weeks old
So adorable. Love the polish too!

MsChickenMama: Here is my jumbo egg in the egg carton. The new BR egg is the tiny light one on the top right. This carton is pretty flexible, so it actually fit, I was surprised. It was not easy to close though.

trsturself: Please post pictures when you crack that 2.9 ounce egg, gotta see that.

I'll be sure to do the same.

Lynn, when we first got the silkies my hubby was cutting the grass and I gave them some clippings and they were totally petrified of it but now they go nuts over fresh clipping piles! Thanks for your help btw

Nancy- good idea, I'm gonna try that. Thank you

Chickenmamma & trsturself - I love all the pics, all your girls are beautiful & amber is looking good!

Tomorrow all my babies ship! I'm all ready all I have to do is have my husband put sand in there tomorrow while he is off cause I'm not about to lug a 50lb bag of wet sand thru the house. That's what they are here for anyway right, heavy lifting and to build chick coops?! lol

Here is my White Leghorn, Snow when she was 5 weeks old. She seemed to be more lean and smaller once she got bigger.

Lynn that egg is huge! Post a pic when you crack it open. Where did you get clear egg cartons? I like them! I wanna get the egg skelter for the kitchen counter but I'm afraid my kitten will think they are balls and I'm gonna come home to busted eggs all over the kitchen.

And some of my older Meyer girls today:

My Speckled Sussex weren't around and when I went to take a picture of Fancy, my other Partridge Rock, I noticed she had been stung in the face by something. Her face was swollen down to her wattle on that side, the poor darling. A dose of Diphenhydramine later and the swelling has reduced to just the sting. :)

Anyone start crowing yet? I'm head over heals in love with lil Po! I get my frizzle this week, I hope it's as cute as Po and I REALLY hope it's a boy. My husband loves Marama, every time you post pics I have to show him Marama

Yup, my two boys are crowing. :) Hika Ma started at about 3 weeks old, and Po started at 7 or 8 weeks old (I don't remember for sure). Po is such a cutie, isn't he? :love He's still peeping, but he's already keeping watch over 'his' girls and chirping when he finds something yummy for them to eat. :D
