Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I just got home from work and found a dead New Hampshire! I made a list of all the chicks that died and this makes #8! What's happening?! They all looked great this morning.
Oh no, I got behind on reading. You lost another one?, that is a lot to lose. I hope that you figure out what is wrong.

Thank you all for your support. I just spent the last couple hours cleaning every inch of the brooder coop and put in fresh bedding. I do not think they are getting trampled, I have 2 heat lamps spaced apart from each other so they have plenty of warm areas but can move away to a cooler spot if they choose. I've had 100+ chicks together in a smaller area before and never lost any other than a DOA or the day after arrival.
I was examining every chick when moving them into the temperary brooder and I noticed a lot of the chicks had what looked like a tiny bit of dried blood on their nostril and I've never seen weird nostrils on any of my other shipments, but some of these looked they might have a defect of some sort. I'll take a picture and post it tomorrow morning. I'm emotionally and physically exhausted at this point. Sorry for practically writing a book here.

Oh goodness. I'm so sorry. It must be exhausting and don't worry about writing a book... we're all here for each other

But if you saw what looks like blood I think Meyer would want to know and maybe other people have contacted them about the same thing and they will know what it is. It certainly can't hurt. I do hope you get some help from them and maybe someone on BYC will be able to help you if you make a post in the injuries/disease section or raising baby chicks.

Great info here. I realize Meyer won't produce show quality chickens, but are they known for better quality in certain breeds? If so, which ones?

I ordered from Meyer this year for my very first chickens and was pleased with the service, selection and speed. I have four Delaware pullets that are 13 weeks now. LOVE them!!!!! They all have wonderful temperments and are a joy to own. I will try to get some pics up as soon as possible. I would definitely go through them again as They were able to send a small quantity (3 plus a meal maker). All are fat fluffy little hooligans out to get the cat!!!
