All the chicks are so cute! Are you finding it easier this time than last since it's not so cold out and you could put them outside earlier? So last Monday at 2 weeks old, we moved the chicks to the coop in a divided area. Kind of a variety of fencing to enclose them temporarily. Although somehow a couple of them every few days manage to find an escape route. They stay clear of the big girls so far and no trouble yet.
The big girls roosting near by to be near the action. Well the 5 older ones. Daisy the now 16 week old is not allowed to roost with them.
So here is our WR, Daisy watching nearby, poor little outcast.
Pepper came by to watch and peck at them so they would know their place.
Ash, our RIR pecked the little Golden Buff, Ginger and little Ginger pecked her right back and stood her ground. She seems to be becoming one of the leaders of this little group. Tough little thing, she'll probably try to lead the whole group once they're all together.

Your big girl flock is so pretty but I feel so sorry for Daisy. Why do they have to be so mean? She's probably almost as big as them now,
when do you think they will finally let her in their group? And how is Daisy around the chicks? That will be interesting to see if she picks
on them or will she see them as her new flock mates.
Love Sky and Flower!! So prettySky, our BA with the hurt wing, wouldn't even keep a vet wrap type wrap on! I don't know how she got it off. But we were gone for the weekend and her wing is already looking better. It's not drooping nearly as much and she can move it fine so I don't think it was broken luckily!
Amber is losing large chunks of old skin with feathers attached. I'll have to take a pic. She's going to be bald pretty soon! Her new skin seems to have come in nicely and she is doing well.
Here's some pics from before the weekend.
Sky and her hurt wing.
This was my first attempt at tying her wing up. Boomerang, the SLP, had to come check it out
A good pic of Flower
Then of course she had to check out the camera to make sure it wasn't a treat
oh, how sad for you and them. Hang in there... maybe Meyer will be able to tell you something. I hope so.I am almost in tears now , I just went out to the brooder to find yet another dead chick, this one is my buckeye. I just want to go crawl in a hole somewhere. I can't believe I'm still loosing them. Now I fear for the poor little chicks I hatched myself. Are they going to die too? Am I going to loose all of them?! I don't know what I'm going to do.
