Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Wow! That's a big egg! We used our first double yoker the other day. We all had to gather around when we cracked it. lol! Not many people would understand that.
My daughter still won't let me use Amber's first egg. She wants me to blow it out so she can save the shell. Her first egg was a double yoker. She also wants to save Mona and Flower's first eggs. What she's going to do with the shell I have no idea. lol
That is neat that your daughter is so interested in the chickens. I wish mine was a little more interested. I've blown eggs out before, you can still eat the egg, can't you?

Makes sure she rinses them well, I learned my lesson there too.

Congrats on 4 eggs!!!!
Love your pics! Boomerang is adorable
Wow! That's huge :)
Ash deserves some extra worms today!!
Yeah, Ash needs a special treat for sure!

Sunni almost laid her first egg this evening. She was in the nest box for about 35 minutes, and then my naughty adult BO thought it would be a good time to come up and kick her out of the box when I had my back turned. Now I can't get her to settle back down in the box... :( Maybe tomorrow.

The girls got attacked by the hawk again today. Only this time I was in the house. STUPID HAWK!! I was only in the house for a half an hour! I checked out the windows and made sure the chickens were okay, and then I went upstairs to take a short nap. Won't be doing that again... The girls were all safe, thankfully. I had a bit of trouble finding my elderly, and very weak Buff Orp, but I finally found her with the help of one of my barn cats. ;)

Nancy Regan one of my BRs is out of sorts :/ her comb is pale and she's moving slow. A bit less interested in eating but did gobble some yogurt for me this evening and drank some water. Hoping whatever she's got goin on resolves quickly :/

Yay for Sunni... I bet it happens today!!!
Darn hawks. They probably won't let up since they see such a nice meal but if you make it hard for them maybe they will try less often.

How is Nancy today? One day my BR was sort of listless and pale comb but by the next day she was fine. But because I'm always reading about diseases and pests on here I always think the worst. I guess some days they can be a little under the weather just like us.

Better in some ways and worse in others, it's hard to tell. She is just moving slow with each step and is kind of in a skulking position (how my husband describes it, like with her neck close to her body), but she moves and hops up the ramp and in and out of coop. Doing well with drinking. She just isn't doing much eating. I gave her some nutridrench this afternoon so hopefully that perks her up a bit. I brought them a banana and she was interested but couldn't get a bite in between the other girls who were being all ravenous.

I just feel like I can't assess her symptoms. I picked her up and thought she was thin, but then picked someone else up and that's just how they're built I guess. Ughhh I feel like a bad chicken mom and just want her to feel better :(

Can you look is her mouth with a flashlight? The moving slow and head tucked close to her body reminds me of my Sunni. She got a string twisted around her tongue and she kept her body so the string didnt pull, and she also didnt eat. It never hurts to check her over. I would hate for you to have to go through what I did with Sunni.

(in my signature is a link to a more descriptive post of what happened to Sunni.)

No egg from Sunni yet. She went in the nest box for another 30 minutes today, but it's like she gets bored and quits trying. Silly girl... I'll let you all know when I get the first egg from her. :D

Sorry to hear. I hope she snaps back soon.

Hopefully soon, I look forward to hearing the egg news!

Nancy - I dread my first broody. Your cochin started so early! Lucky you, right?

Got my first order of chicks Wednesday. I ordered 4 chicks from Meyers but got a call that one did not hatch. I was really disappointed and decided to just take the remaining three. To my surprise, they included a mystery meal maker. I am very satisfied with my order. Chicks seem happy and healthy. I was able to choose their vaccinations.

I like Meyers because I could order a small number of chicks and ordering during warmer months seemed to prevent delivery deaths. The only downside to ordering chicks this way was dealing with the post office. If I could find a local breeder/hatchery I would consider buying there. For now, I will stick with Meyers!
