Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

My Easter Egger started laying! She is 23 weeks old! The picture doesn't do it justice. It is a pretty olive color with brown spots. The brown egg on the bottom is from my Barred Rock hen.

That's a pretty egg!

It's funny how even chickens in the same breed can lay such different eggs. Our BR egg is much lighter and pointy on the ends. That looks just like our BA egg.

I just went and checked Boomerang (SLP) - she is 2 1/2 fingers! That's a big difference from the not even 1 finger from a couple weeks ago! :)

My Rhode Island Reds beat my Leghorns to laying

My Barred Rocks look like they could start any time too, the Leghorns are getting bigger combs but still pale.

Wishing eggs for both of you. Really your RIR beat the leghorns. They both are supposed to be excellent layers, but I assumed that the leghorns would do better. Our RIR is doing her job well.

One of my leghorns is laying almost everyday, but her twin has not laid yet. She has been in the nest box though. So hard to tell with them, they're skittish and do not squat.

Beautiful eggs, congrats! and yay for green!

Yeah the bottom egg looks closer in color to my White Rocks or RIR's egg. My BR's both lay a light tan almost pick eggs. Sometimes my EE's eggs have extra brown spots on them, sometimes they are just green.

Those are nice looking chickens and eggs. I must have missed that picture on here.

These are my Buff Orphingtons from Meyer in August. They are 21 weeks old now, hoping they start laying soon. All the ones with them are some I hatched 4weeks later, a cross between my red pulleys and a Speckled Sussex rooster. They are all so funny!

I got two BOs in August from them too! Mine will be 21 weeks on Monday and no eggs yet! They are such pretty and sweet girls though. :)

I must've missed that picture too. Those are pretty eggs!

No news here. Glad it hasn't been snowing or frigid. It was really windy today but the girls are all doing fine.

Sonderah: pretty chickens! That's neat you hatch some of your own too. Sounds like you'll get eggs soon.

So I think I have another layer. It was a 1.3 ounce little white egg. Think it was my Blue Andulasion or my other leghorn. My other leghorn's eggs are usually bigger.

Here is a pic of today's eggs, all my girls that are laying are Meyer with a few mixes out of Meyer and Townline stock.
700

My Marans hen ( not from Meyer) turned out to be a TERRIBLE layer and has only laid 8 eggs since mid December when she started at 32 weeks old :/ Her pelvic bones are all tight now so who knows when she'll probably lay again...grrr
