Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Hi, I just got my Meyer chick this morning and on so pleased!!! All arrived alive, warn and healthy. 3 barred rocks, 2 light Brahma, 1 ee, 1 polish something, and 1 white Cochin (I think)
Best of luck... they're cute!!

So beautiful! Eva and Zsa Zsa crack me up! They are adorable, dahhhling!
LOL!!

We picked up a couple more chickens yesterday and today. We got 3 1wk old copper maran (2 black and 1 blue) yesterday from someone that hatched them locally. My friend is taking 2 of them and we're keeping one. Unfortunately they are straight run so fingers crossed there's at least 2 girls in there.
Today we drove up to a farm that orders from cackle (I think). We picked up 3 BR, 2 RIR, and 2 GLW for my realtor and his neighbor. DD picked out an EE/cochin mix for herself, and our friend picked out 4 week old EEs and a 12 week old EE. I'll try to get some picks of the ones we're keeping.

I had the feeling today that I need to stop buying chickens for this year. I'd like to save some breeds for next year. We'll see if the feeling lasts though. lol!
Can't wait to see pics!

Oh wow, so adorable. they are growing fast

and here are some pictures of my other two EE's Ellie and Greta

Not sure if these pics help, but it's fun showing off my EE's!

I hope that you figure out what's going on with your chickens soon or maybe time will just resolve all the issues, it sounds like you have a lot of good plans in place now to get her healthy again.
It looks like one of mine looks like Ellie or Greta... the one with the orange neck/brown body. We'll see.

OK, not to add more confusion but another issue popped up.

I added golf balls to the nests recently because I had found remnants of an egg in a nest a few weeks ago. Then this weekend when cleaning out the nest I found remnants of an egg. But oddly no shell at all so I figured they ate it all.
Light bulb should have gone on but no...
So the other night when I went to check for mites ... again ... after a minute or so 4 chickens jumped off the roosts and started pecking away at something on the poop board ... it was a soft shelled egg. Now this morning when I went out to the girls my BR Henrietta is always the most chatty and follows me around and squats. She was looking a bit poorly and not eating. Her butt was droopy so I was thinking stuck egg. Hours later when I went to check on them, she came out of the coop all perky and I checked the nest and there was a soft shelled egg. And the one I had found on the poop board the other night was near where she was roosting.

Soooo, now I have another issue to add to the rest. I'm so worried these are going to all add up to something bad. Especially with my one having the prolapse and having to put her down, one dying suddenly, Moe with the feather issues and now my BR with soft shelled egg. Seriously, has anyone heard of this many issues in one flock... and it's nothing???
So I'm going to give her calcium and I've also read that it could be a vit. D deficiency so she can't absorb the calcium?? I put ACV in the water since it's still pretty cool out here.
Goodness, this is ridiculous.

Nancy - do you use any probiotics of any kind...besides ACV? It definitely sounds like a vitamin/mineral kind of deficiency in several of your chicks. I hope you can get it figured out!

I would consider probiotics, calcium, and the amino acid concentrate...

I like your plan! I did spray the girls with the poultry protector too. I sprayed vents, bellies, under wings, and backs of necks. I kinda do still think it's some kind of big Perhaps these few girls are more sensitive to whatever is causing the issue. I know I have one cat who is more sensitive to fleas than the other. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Yay for babies! I think you will be really happy with them.

Actually, I think this is bringing it all together. I agree that it sounds like a vitamin thing. Some soft-shelled eggs are normal, but if you are seeing that many, there may be a deficiency. It explains the lowered numbered of eggs and the pecking!

I didn't know if probiotics were ok every day but now that I know they are, I'll be giving them a pill in the water every day or in their wet food that they gobble up in a few minutes so I know they'll be getting it all. I'm going to give just the one some calcium not all of them. They do always have oyster shell out there but prefer the real shells crushed up. I just can't keep enough out there of that for them. I was actually thinking of going to a bakery and asking them to save me shells one day a week so I could give them to the girls. They probably go through dozens a day!
I'm going to read about amino acids concentrate... never looked into that before.

Thanks for the help everyone!!

Yes... and that's what was making me think it was the feed. I switched back to their original crumbles they used to get. We'll see what happens :)
