Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

They finally made it... no heat pack I guess because it was hot yesterday but they were so cold when they arrived. One Golden Buff is most likely not going to make it. Gave Nutri Drench and have it close to the heat but barely any movement.
All the rest seem great. Eating and drinking.

For the first hour I was trying to warm up the dying one so I had it in my hand under the Ecoglow to keep it close to the heat. I felt something odd so I lifted up the heater and another one had crawled into my hand and fell asleep. Oh my, so cute. I didn't have my camera handy so I couldn't get a pic. This made me think of putting my hands in there more often the first few days so I'm not the big scary monster! We'll see how it goes.

Adorable, I am so glad you finally have them. Hope the little Buff makes it!

Bo Bo is a great name. I had thought about naming a BO, Bo but your son's choice is better, much cuter.

That Coop Mahal is crazy! Great ideas for future expansion. Thanks for sharing the link! If you try any of their tunnels and hoops. We need photos!!!
I really want to make tunnels, ramps and all that. If I do I will be sure to post and brag. I really should be getting real work done, but I just took time off of work to get some work done on the new sand box addition. We still need to attach and paint the roof but it is sealed all around with hardware cloth and the roof is on top but not attached yet. I just got all the hardware cloth clipped off the areas where the new addition is added, so they can now get to the sand box. I added more dirt too it, fluffed up all the sand and they are so happy rolling around in the cool and moist sand.

Here is a before shot of the sandbox on the end of the run. We framed it off and put a roof. They needed more shaded areas anyway, so this gives them another spot to cool off. I'll post the completed extension once done.

My husband is even beginning to agree with the idea of extending the run on the backside too. He loves to work with wood and he has a ton of tools and equipment from all his projects. It's nice to see him back to being himself again after having surgery, etc. I also had a 100 foot roll of hardware cloth left over from our last project which really helps keep these project costs down.

The little Buff died and all of a sudden another Buff is looking horrible and a Leghorn too! We'll see. Do they send replacements s if more die?

Believe it or not, Bo Bo is the nickname of one of the San Antonio Spurs players (I have no idea who) and my son is a huge fan... even though we are in PA. So that's where Patty Patty came from (named after Patty Mills) and now Bo Bo. It was either that or he wanted 'The Land Walrus" cause that's the nickname of another player. Happily he chose BoBo.

That is going to be amazing!! I think it is a sign you have so much hardware cloth leftover... you just have to use it! So glad you DH is feeling well enough to take on a new project. I bet it's going to be great... so much fun isn't it?

Oh no....that extra day in shipping must have really been stressful for them.

I did get replacements when I had ordered in 2012 since I had 2 die from shipping and 1 a day later. They gave me the credit for 3 and I ordered 3 additional and I didn't have to pay for shipping the replacements, so of course I added the additional ones. Give it the minimum amount of time to report the deaths and then give them a call, they are so helpful. The only problem is getting the same ones that you lost, but I believe the Golden Buffs are always available.

I hope that you do not lose more though, so sorry about the one.

Yes, so true about the hardware cloth. We finished all that we needed now and still have a lot left on the roll too!

It is so much fun building again, I missed it. The sand box is done now except for a coat of paint on the roof to protect it from the weather. I wanted to paint it today, but it is so hot out there.

I forgot how old your son was, I guess he was not trying to be cute with the name! Oops...

Should I, or shouldn't I? I have a 10x16 coop and a 20X30 run (which they still haven't used!). I already have 26 chicks that are 3 months and 2 months

I have an order sitting to submit to Meyer for 8 more. I wanted to add a couple of white layers and a couple of olive eggers.

Am I just being impulsive?

Oy!

So awesome! I can't wait to see your progress! Having shade over the sand is probably a good idea anyway as sand can get really hot!
