Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

If its worth anything, I live about 2 1/2 hrs from Meyer in Michigan and monday shipped chicks always come in Wednesday morning. I don't even watch the darn USPS tracking because they are TERRIBLE at updating it, most times it says the package made it to Columbus and then no updates until I get the phone call Wednesday morning (or I -make- the phone call because my local post office sucks).
Just last weekend, I scheduled a three day vacation down in Amish country OH so we could pick up my turkey poults on the way home. They really don't ship as well as chicks do. I also ended up taking a few "extra" chicks home too!

So awesome! Can't wait to hear about those turkeys! My son wants to get some next year for our thanksgiving dinner.

@MamaShell and everyone:

Did you see this new posting on BYC? Great for those who cannot free range.

I love what they have done with their coop/run etc. Really cool ideas.

We've extended a little of the run now with our chickens. Now the large sandbox/bathing area is going to be included soon with the rest of the run. We're adding on a 8 foot by 4 foot area. We plan on adding more to the back of the run too. I'll take a few pics to show everyone. The new BYC post really has me thinking about tunnels and ramps.....My husband is finally feeling well enough to build again...so maybe we'll get more done around here now?

Hope so!

@NotableNancy Any news or little peeps yet?

My last order arrived the next day some how and I live outside of Charlotte NC, much further away. Of course, I did not complain. I was pleasantly surprised!

The only way to train a dog is to take them camping for 2 weeks.... learns there is only one place to go and that is outside... never had any accidents after we did that, but I am guessing a camping trip isn't on the radar right now... I may be a tad late with my advice... such a cutie patootie!!!
Oh he's an outside dog, definitely don't need his huge fluffiness in the house! lol when I am not at work I am outside so really there is no point in having him inside.

Hello all....

Chicken math at it's worst here in this house! When DH comes home on Labor Day he is going to pop a vein when he looks in the grow out stall and sees all these chicks. Just ordered the last two Olive Eggers and a Golden Buff from the August 11th delivery date. Oy...
I had a terrible success rate with my last incubation of shipped eggs and only one little one hatched, so of course off to the website I go and boom... 3 new chicks arriving next week... yeah!

Any one with Meyer Olive Eggers have any pictures to post for me?

Thanks!

Here are 2 of my 3 that I have. these pics are about 3 weeks maybe 4 weeks old. they are 20 weeks old this week. I have 2 that are the blue/gray color in the 1st 2 photos and 1 all black pullet. my black pullet does not have feathered shanks but has a beard and muffs. My blue/gray pullets both have feathered shanks but only one has a beard and muffs. they are very pretty to look at! I am hoping for some eggs soon then I can post the colors!

AWWWW! We got our Great Pyr, Darwin, many years ago -- he looked like this then:

Here's a more recent pic of him with two of our other dogs, Bismark (a fuzzy Schnauzer) and Ziva (a boxer/mastiff mix who now weighs 100 lbs but was a tiny pup when the photo was taken.):

Love them puppies!

Oh my he is so handsome! does he do good around chickens?

That Coop Mahal is crazy! Great ideas for future expansion. Thanks for sharing the link! If you try any of their tunnels and hoops. We need photos!!!

They finally made it... no heat pack I guess because it was hot yesterday but they were so cold when they arrived. One Golden Buff is most likely not going to make it. Gave Nutri Drench and have it close to the heat but barely any movement.
All the rest seem great. Eating and drinking.

For the first hour I was trying to warm up the dying one so I had it in my hand under the Ecoglow to keep it close to the heat. I felt something odd so I lifted up the heater and another one had crawled into my hand and fell asleep. Oh my, so cute. I didn't have my camera handy so I couldn't get a pic. This made me think of putting my hands in there more often the first few days so I'm not the big scary monster! We'll see how it goes.

quick pics:
2 Golden Buff, 2 Exchequer Leghorn, 1 Speckled Sussex and 1 Buff Orpington

Wow.. thanks for these! Pretty girls! I especially love the blue gray ones! I have a black Ameraucana roo, so I would love the different colors than black birds. Have hatched a lot of black sex linked EE's from him this spring crossed with my BR girls and the females are all black, so would love a color change up!

Well, 2 arrive next week with a Golden Buff. Always love to have another "penny" reliable layer like the golden buffs. My other two from Meyer are egg machines!
