X3.....I will be REALLY surprised if you get an egg from your Delaware...lol
There is no doubt that's a roo Dellie. Barring on the tail feathers is a def roo!

WOW! Both responses are more than a bit disappointing to me! The only one that could even possibly be a pullet still is the Columbian Wyandotte. The Cochin is a boy by his coloration, and he and the Brahma and Delaware all have pointed saddle feathers. If you disregard comb and wattle growth, even feather pattern, they still could not be girls. Female chickens simply do not grow pointed saddle feathers. :/ C'mon, Meyer's, get your people together!Am I missing something?? I know I am not a chicken genius but what is up? So now with 2 different answers from them I am at a loss. The only thing I can do is wait and see. I'll post the pics again, tell me if I am crazy?!cochin, the only one that got 2 votes for roo
light brahma, one vote for; one against
Delaware, suprisingly 2 votes against.
columbian, 2 votes against

Thank you guys so much. That is what I have been thinking too pip! Girls don't grow sharp pointy feathers, period! I would be very surprised if we are wrong and will gladly eat crow. But at this point have to say I am most likely done with Meyer. When I decide to order again it will be with someone else. Which is shameful because I like their layout (saw it in a video) and the people have been nice. I just don't know if they don't want to admit it because of the error of the 4/9 ratio or if they truly think they are girls. Either way it is disappointing.WOW! I agree and I'm still a hold out that the CW is a pullet. Just my very uneducated guess. .... But anyway, that's the one policy I don't like. The diff. between pullet and cockerel is about $1 in many cases and in the mean time you have been feeding it for months expecting to eventually get eggs. Not only don't you get eggs but now you have to find a new home for them. If it was me I would feel just awful because I can't keep roo's and doubt I could find so many homes so then I would have to cull. Sorry you are having this trouble.Me, too. Columbian is the only one that looks like a pullet to me (and refunding just the dif between hen and roo would SO not work for me since a roo is pretty useless to most of us).

I literally went out took more pics 2 days ago and emailed them immediately (all on the 17th) because she said she didn't see the delaware in my original pics. The first ones were done with my phone, the second ones were taken with a nikon d3100 at close range and then cropped even closer to make sure they could see every detail.I am betting my bottom dollar that Delaware and Columbian are Roos. Especially the Columbian! How old are they in these pics? Will they reimburse you when they start to crow?

They will probably be tired of me before it is over with. I am not sure anyone else is better either. It is just the principle of the thing to me. 2 different answers from them. it is almost like they don't want to acknowledge the entire problem. And I don't deal with people or business that do that. I work too hard and save all year afford to place my order for this kinda problem.I wouldn't give up. I'd be sending some new pics again in a couple weeks. Make sure to really zoom in on those pointy feathers. This years mis-sexed rates are really disappointing BUT I'm not sure anyone else does much better.![]()
