Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Hey all, almost forgot to post these here! My young Meyer ladies turned 11 months old over the weekend! :D

YOU... MUST... STOP... POSTING PiCS!!!

Because of YOU, I have a Silver Gray Dorking and a Welsummer in my shopping cart (MUST REFrAiN FROM BUyING UNTIl 2016!!!). I'm impatiently waiting for my. Meyers BCM to grow into a stunner like Georgette. Now you have to show the beautiful Frou Fro... Do you not know that there a Splash Marans chicks at the local feed store RIGhT NOW? And I need to buy more chick feed? ARGH! How am I going to get in and out without buying a little mini-Frou Frou?

Seriously!

I am sorry to bear about Louise. We lost Princess, the Rottweiller this weekend. At least she died peacefully in her sleep. It has been a very sad week here. I was just joking about not posting pics here--I really always love to see your family! :D

Even if it does goad me into wanting even more chickens. :p

Sadly, my other Meyer BCM, Louise, passed away on Thursday after a long battle with her health. :(

Just for fun, one of my favorite pictures from the weekend; Elda, Kit, and Georgie, all vying for my attention:

I also got a few pictures of some of the older Meyer girls while I was out there. :D

Frou-Frou the Splash Marans receiving a good wattle scritching. I'm trying to win back her love after I rudely evicted her from her winter luxury suite in my bedroom. She's so abused.

Ihi the crazy Golden Campine:

Roha the Exchequer Leghorn. She's saying, "Love me!"

And Pogonip the Speckled Sussex. She'll be 3 years old in June, and for the first time in her life she's decided to brood.

Sorry to hear that you lost one. Your girls are so gorgeous! I just love frou frou!!!!

You are too cruel! (In the best possible way)

Frou Frou is positively beautiful and has so much personality! (Sigh). I just might have to see about those feed store chicks. The problem is that they are straight runs and I always seem to end up with roosters from there. :(

But mini-Frou Frou is just too tempting...

You could always order a Splash Marans pullet with your Silver Gray Dorking and Welsummer for 2016. You'd have to wait, of course, but then you'd be able to get your mini-Frou-Frou without having to worry as much about whether it's a boy or a girl... :D

I did add the Splash Marans pullet to my MPC order for 2016 (along with a double-lace barnvelder, a silver lakenvelder, and a couple of Polish too in case the one I picked up from the feed store last week turns out to be a roo). It's so hard to just say NO!

But it will be very hard to walk past the chicks at the feed store. I have to go into the FAR corner of the store, past lots of things I don't need, just to see the chicks... like they are magnets pulling me against my will. I always feel so sorry for them. They are in teeny, tiny, cramped cages and are stressed and picking out each others feathers. It makes me feel bad to leave them behind.
