That's neat that you are hatching chicks too, I look forward to doing that one day too.Thanks.
I've got "generation next" in the bator now. Not all potential moms and dads are Meyers EE, some are some NN I've gathered along the way (some pure, some top knotted) and one araucana boy. Can't wait to see what they hatch out.
No, not yet. I moved them into the garage last night and that was such an ordeal I think I'll give them a little time to get used to the change. Sheesh, you'd have thought I was killing them they made such a fuss. I added another box to their already existing box so now they have a nice one bedroom suite. Woke up this morning to find them all crammed into a corner of the box rather than under the heater and 2 actually roosted! It only went down to 60 degrees in the garage last night so they may not have needed the heater but of course it gave me more to worry about.Wow Nancy, they have gotten so big! They also look great! Have they made their trip outside yet? If so, how'd it go?
Any new pics?? They must be getting so bigAre little ladies (so I hope paid for females but I see a suspect roo or two) are starting to get funky looking sort of like they woke up on the wrong side of the perch so to speak..But its very interesting to see the changes in their feathers and even each ones character. The girls have also moved out to there forever home but its blocked off so they are only exposed to some of the coop..They really love the extra room to run about and explore..very cheap entertainment if I do say so myself!! Will try to get pics up tomorrow of everything!!! Happy Chickening all![]()
My chickens hate change too and really complain a lot when I do move things around. It is nice to get the house back after chick brooding, isn't it?No, not yet. But I must say, it's nice to not have the farm smell in my house!
I have 15 barred rocks like the one above ..![]()
Some have pinker combs than others - that kinda freaks me out - as I paid for all Pullets ... But they are 5.5 weeks today so I guess I have another 5 weeks to find out if I get refunded anything ... As of now I'm just looking for every possible sign of cockerlism lmao but I like them all dearly . I also got 3 Pekin ducks from Meyer and love them too!
