Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I really hope my two EE's turn out as pretty as everyone's on this thread! I'm really hoping that they both get some pretty and unique colors. I would be pretty disappointed if they both turned out the same color :/

Izzy does have a bit of brown/red on the chest but it is even. Her shoulders don't have any red/brown but you certainly never know!!
Carmella wins my 'prettiest face' award! I think she is so girly and pretty too!!
I do give eggs to them almost every day. I tried yogurt but they didn't like it. I give them grapes, lettuce, weeds, and berries. Any other suggestions? I was going to try to sprout some things soon. That has a lot of protein.
The only way I can tell the CM and BR apart is by the color of the legs. They're both pretty friendly too but my CM is more interested in people.
You may have already tried them, but I give mine meal worms and BOSS, plus we've had a lot, a whole lot of inch worms that they've been feasting on.

I think we did it again!!
Yup, you're 'nesting'!!!
Agreed, that is a perfect term to use in this situation too.

I do give them dried meal worms and they all go crazy over them. I keep thinking it's to early to give them BOSS. Is 7 weeks OK?
We found 2 worms today while gardening and gave them to them. Of course my BB (boy I think) scarfed one down asap and the other worm got passed around for a bit which was fun to watch. I'll start digging for more worms for them and try to get Pipsqueak to eat one.
Funny, I made some scrambled eggs for them today and they all went crazy as usual but every time Pipsqueak got a little piece she dropped it. I never noticed before but I guess she doesn't like it.

I was afraid of them looking alike as well so that's why I got 4 EE's!! But they are all pretty different. You just never know I guess. But if they arrive looking similar don't worry- I had 2 chipmunk looking ones and 2 plain brown with puffy cheeks and yet they are all different.

I started giving them BOSS around 5 to 6 weeks, just a little, but I made sure they had grit. They looked at them funny the 1st few days and eventually started eating them. Anything new they take awhile to eat. Now they love BOSS.

Maybe boil an egg and give Pipsqueak some of the yolk only? Pure protein.

Should be getting my email today....getting closer!!!!!

You must be so excited!!!!

We feed the birds BOSS and sometimes it falls to the ground and sprouts. I fed that to them and the first day they didn't really do much with it but the 2nd time they really ate it up. Next time I buy it I will give them some. They always have grit available and they're on construction sand so there's lots of little stones in there. And I'll try the hard boiled egg yolk trick too. They do love the yolks!! Stinkers always pick that out first then slowly eat the whites. I made sure she got lots of meal worms last night.
But in the end, I guess they will feather when they're darn ready!

Keep us posted about the chicks!

Talked with Meyers today about my Started Pullets that were picked up Saturday having a bad case of lice. They are sending me poultry dust to use on them. I already spent seven bucks on poultry dust from TSC yesterday, as I did not want to wait to treat them, so their sending me something doesn't quite make me happy. Nothing to do, though, but hope none of the other chickens get infested too. I think they should have given me a partial credit or something, but as long as this does not delay their laying schedule, I will be satisfied. Still a bummer though. I can't even start getting them acclimated to their new digs until this is taken of, in probably 2 weeks, hopefully.

Did I say BUMMER yet?

Well, Meyer Hatchery noticed this post and contacted me, offering to credit me for the chicken. Awfully nice of them for sure. I highly recommend Meyer Hatchery, as I believe their hatchery stock is outstanding in most instances. I have a beautiful Buff Brahma and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, as well as a magnificent EE, all 5 months old. Many other chickens, too, but these are the ones that stand out right now. My Australorp has a great green shimmer to her and my White Jersey Giant is pure white, with the exception of one errant black feather. Can't wait to see what he 6 weeks old grow up to be!

That's great!!! Hopefully you can get them cleaned up and added to the rest of your flock!! How old are they when you buy them as started pullets?
Glad to hear the rest of your Meyer girls are looking so good.
