Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Sorry you lost your little one...heart breaking I know. Had the same thing happen last year. Amazing how quick you can get attached to the little fuzzies

The Howards, I would assume your Meal Maker is a red sexlink at this point.

Pfewww...You ain't said nothing wrong there. We already have 1 red sex-link (1 year old) and had 4 more in this order...plus this little one. (not to mention the layer ducks) We will have eggs coming out of our ears!

3 more days! :celebrate I'm running out of things to do to keep me busy. My dad told me a few weeks ago "You're so patient considering how long of a wait you have." But in all reality, I've only been patient on the outside! Lol

Thats what I have done, is add a few here and there in the past and ended up with a large variety, the order I'm getting in the fall is my biggest ever, and while I'm super excited about all of them it makes me sad to realize thats it, there won't be any more. Stick with what you've got, reevaluate next spring, and maybe then put in another order for just a few including your GLW. Reading about your issues with your GLW makes me shudder a little, I'm hoping I don't have similar issues since I also have one on my order.

Oh, plus if your brother still is interested, maybe he can take a couple of your chicks and free up some openings in the maximum capacity.
I hope that you get your GLW too. You'll have to post pics so I can experience having one from afar

That's a good idea. He is still in the "thinking about getting chickens phase" so maybe by next year I'll have him convinced to start a small flock.

If you want to see more there are almost 100 pictures on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/serenityfarmsteadsa
Great pics and cute daughter. It's neat to see your BO, ours is so big already, but no wattles or much of a comb yet. When did she start laying eggs?

Hey all, been busy here lately and haven't been able to post. But today was my day off so the girls got to have their first outside adventure. Needless to say they were super happy....flappin their wings, jumping every where, and first time dust baths. The silver laced cochin was kinda sleepy so she slept in my hoodie pocket most of the time.

So here is a comparison shot of the feathers of the one of the golden buffs (all the other buffs look like this) and the mystery meal maker.

such cute little free ranging chicks! I'm interested to find out what your extra chick is too.

Yay!! What are you getting (or did I miss this post... sorry if I did)

Well, sad update from me. One of our chicks died - one of the yellow ones :( Just this morning, so of course we are *just* outside Meyer's 24-hr garuntee :( Hopefully the others survive OK... It didn't look quite as good as the others, and yesterday seemed really slow and this morning its dead :(
So sorry you lost one. How are the rest today??
