Not a problem.
My first chickens actually came from a farm and we suspect that they tried to dump a bunch of roosters on us because we literally only got one hen from that lot. We have gotten most of our birds from TSC, as well as a few from one of my mom's coworkers who decided she didn't want chickens after all. My Sebrights came from a swap meet, and they will be the last adult birds I ever add to my flock (just my personal preference). And then in 2011 we got some barred Plymouth Rocks and 'Americanas' (Easter-eggers) from a very local, Amish-run hatchery.
I don't think I will ever go back to feed store chicks, mostly because I've found that feed store chicks are a lot harder to tame than straight-from-hatchery chicks. As Meyer's is the only hatchery in driving distance with so many different breeds available, and I have had two good experiences with them so far, I think that they will have my business for the foreseeable future.
