Agreed, that little EE fluff ball is adorable! Can't wait to see what she grows into. Our EE is still very mellow.

I'm anxiously awaiting my phone call from the post office for my babies. Post office here doesn't open til 9 so hopefully anytime they will call as it is 9:00 now here.
oh no. you mean they're silent because they seem sickly? Maybe dip their beaks in water again? do you have the gro-gel? you can dip their beaks in that too. If still wobbly, call your local feed store and see if they have Nutri drench for poultry. It has an eye dropper and I put that directly into their mouth. It full of all kinds of great stuff for them and goes directly into their system since it is a liquid. If they don't have that you can get baby vitamins from any drug store -get it without iron- and give that to them. Keep us posted.Got all my babies. They were chirping away when I picked them up. Now all dead silent and some are pretty wobbly

I guess you could tell... I GOT AN EGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's the most perfect beautiful egg!! 1.1 oz I guess typical size for a first egg.
Here's Scarlett after she laid it... I thought Big Red would be the first because her comb/wattles are bigger and redder than
Scarlett's
It was so cute... I saw her sitting in the nest box while I was filling their water/food and she didn't come out when I was giving them a little
wet crumbles. But I guess she couldn't stand all the commotion in the run so she finally came out, ate her fill and then went back into the nest box. I went in the house to fill the waterer with ice and water and when I went back out there was an egg!!!! Not sure if she sang a song or anything because the windows are shut with the AC on.
Here's all the girls relaxing after all the excitement:
And here's Pipsqueak this morning. Still very young looking.
My BR came up to me today and squatted too! So I have both RIR's, 1 EE, 1 BR, 1 Marans and my Cochin all squatting!!!
Such cute babies you have!! Glad you got a SS, mine has been such a sweetie!
Yeah my Daisy has always been very skittish and shy! Poor thing she looks a mess with all these feathers of different lengths and patches of baby fluff! Im loving Olivias coloring, she's very dark but her gold "necklace" is beautiful! She's still Pipsqueak although I usually call her Pips or Pippa, and she is doing great. Just a bit smaller than the rest and maturing slowly. She's a bit shy with me and hangs back till the mean girls, the BA's, are finished with the weeds or treats then gets in there for her share. I'll get a pic of her next time. At least it's warm outside so if Daisy isn't feathered all the way yet she's not cold! With our 95 degree temps I'm sure a few of mine would like to be have a few less feathers. Your Olivia looks like my Cleo. No beard and dark like yours but I think she's very pretty.
Adorable!! Love he little silver EE's!!!As promised, here are some pictures of my chicks that arrived this morning! Here they are when we got them home, ready to be unpacked from their Meyer's box. Finally in the brooder! After a quick beak dip in water and being shown where they can get warm by the Brinsea, they start to drink and eat.Yeah, I had to put something under their water to raise it up so they wouldn't stand in it. LOLAnd here we have the Black Australorp and the little Barred Rock in front. The Barred Rock is doing much better now, thank you! Here we have two of the spunkier members of the chick posse. A Rhode Island Red and a Brown Leghorn. So far, I can see the Brown Leghorn running the roost one day. Very feisty! The one in the back is the Buff Orpington and in the front is the Golden Buff. Both are very sweet chicks. As much as I tried, I just couldn't get a good picture of the two Easter eggers together! So, here they are separately...Easter Egger #1 is my most fluffy chick by far! Her cheeks are insanely poofy! Very sweet disposition, too.Easter Egger #2 have very distinct chipmunk markings on her back. Not quite as fluffy as the other one, but still impressive enough fluff! That's it for now!![]()
Congrats on that egg! I like how it's so dark! Pipsqueak is cute! Gives me an idea of what daisy will look like as soon as she figures out what she's doing with those feathers of hers!e

Yay for the chicks! I hope that they do okay! They all seem to be doing much better, wetted there beaks again and now most are eating and drinking. I have a lil polish that seems more weak than rest. Might have to run to the store and see about baby vitamins. It's closer than the local feed store which is 10 miles away
