It's the most perfect beautiful egg!! 1.1 oz I guess typical size for a first egg.

Are you sure it was one of your RIR's? it seems really dark, could the Cuckoo Maran have laid it?

Just our RIR eggs are lighter in color, maybe it is just the lighting from the picture too.

It is beautiful, no matter who laid it, so happy for you!!!

Sounds like the others will be adding to your egg basket soon too! Your mornings now have added fun, plus afternoons too since they will lay eggs throughout the day!

Big Mama squatted today for me, so we have 4 squatting now!!! So glad she has recovered! Now if Oreo would just squat too, that'd be great.

Yeah they all seem to be doing great. Now playing the guessing game. Got a meal maker and 4 rare assorted egg layers. The one is a polish and an EE not sure in the other 2. Will have to post pics later tonight when I get some pics

Can't wait for pics to see if we can help guess. I am still debating adding one of those rare egg layers to my order. I have less then 2 weeks to decide now.

Sunni one of my chicks from Meyer is choking. She can hardly breath and she can't swallow anything. What should I do?? She hasn't eaten anything today and her crop is completely empty. She is very weak.

Does anyone know what do do for a blocked throat? I started a thread and nobody is answering!

Your babies are really cute! Sorry about the marans. How is the polish, was she weak when she arrived? Is she a black or blue

She is black. She was weak when she arrived but seems to be more active now. Eating and drinking now.

Gosh I don't know... did you get any help yet? Maybe a dropper of olive oil? Just some droppers of water/vitamins to get fluids into her? How old is Sunni? How scary. Keep us posted
