Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Sunni one of my chicks from Meyer is choking. She can hardly breath and she can't swallow anything. What should I do?? She hasn't eaten anything today and her crop is completely empty. She is very weak.

Does anyone know what do do for a blocked throat? I started a thread and nobody is answering!
You can try to post your question to this thread, they have helped me before. Good luck!

Glad they're all healthy. Yes, they look like EE's to me.

Nancy I love the picture of all of them laying together!
Thx, they do that a lot and I think they look so cute too.

YAY!!!!!! So glad you finally have an egg!!!! Congrats!!!

Are you sure it was one of your RIR's? it seems really dark, could the Cuckoo Maran have laid it?

Just our RIR eggs are lighter in color, maybe it is just the lighting from the picture too.

It is beautiful, no matter who laid it, so happy for you!!!

Sounds like the others will be adding to your egg basket soon too! Your mornings now have added fun, plus afternoons too since they will lay eggs throughout the day!

Big Mama squatted today for me, so we have 4 squatting now!!! So glad she has recovered! Now if Oreo would just squat too, that'd be great.
I know, it's a pretty dark egg, just how it looks in the photo! She was the only one sitting in a nest. She was in there for about 20 min while I was feeding/cleaning, then she came out to eat then went back in. When I came out from the house only a few minutes later the egg was in there so I'm pretty sure it was her. But I'll watch more closely tomorrow. And even though my Marans is squatting she just doesn't look ready to lay yet. But what the heck do I know, it's my first egg ever.
Blad Big Mama is squatting! She must be feeling much better now. So glad she made it!
BTW, I think you NEED to add a rare egg layer to your order

I ordered my girls from Meyers, they are 5 weeks old now. First ordered 2 Barred Rocks, 2 Golden Buffs, 3 White Leghorns & 3 Easter Eggers - was going for the colorful basket, friendly birds because I have kids & good production layers. Then since Meyers is basically in my backyard I sent my sister over to the hatchery when they were had a $1/chick sale and I think those breeds are Buff Orpington, Partridge Silkie, Black Jersey Giant & maybe another White Leghorn, but she didn't pay as close attention as I would have (I would have taken notes lol!). But here they are as of Friday 7/12 growing like weeds in my spare/guest bedroom!! They are so friendly and love seeing me when I come into the room! They are friendly to my kids even though my little one can tend to love on them a little too much!! My friend got me hooked on chicken raising and now I'm in trouble! My husband realizes how much I love raising them because I have done every feeding without complaining so he built my coop to house 30 because he's sure I'll get more down the road!

Easter Eggers - Simba & Yellow (my 2 year old named the one yellow my 8 year old thought that was so funny since the chick wasn't yellow and wouldn't turn yellow he left the name yellow!)
Golden Buff - Brownie

Golden Buff - Caramel

Barred Rocks - Lace & Ruffles
Black Jersey Giant - Thunder

White Leghorns - Ice, Snowball & Sleet

\
Easter Egger - Princess
Buff Orpington - Crown
Partridge Silkie - Furball
White Leghorn? - Lightning

Wish we would have built a bigger coop to start with now we are having to add another. Oh well, love chickens. They are very entertaining.

Forgot this lil cutie, think this one is the meal maker
I have one that looks exactly like that. I ordered a Brown egg layer assotment and a meal maker. I think it is Golden Buff but I am not certain because I have two others that folks on the "what breed is this thread" said are Golden Buffs and they are the biggest and most feathered out of the group. It is the slowest feathering one of my entire little group. She (hopefully) is 3 weeks old today and barely has a tail

It will be interesting to see how quickly yours feathers out.

This what my other two look like currently. And KowTippin knows what she ordered - specfically as opposed to assortment. Can the Meyers Meal maker be any breed?

Yeah, the Meal Maker can be any breed.

You guys are such enablers!!!! I added 2 Rare Egg Assortments to my order, you were supposed to talk me down from the ledge!!!

If they all get here and they all survive, I will be up to 22 chickens, which is actually 2 above my limit. Uh oh

My husband was no help in stopping me either, he was like, well you might as well, just a few bucks each since you're already paying for shipping.

KowTippin- love the chicks, great variety and unique names!
