Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

So here are some pics of my 6 week olds from Meyer. I think I accidentally got 2 roos in with my pullets, but let me know what you think.

Buff Orpington Pullet

Not sure with this one being a lighter color than Rhode Island Reds, maybe a New Hampshire Pullet ?

Is it strange that I'm only getting 1 egg a day if I have 5 (I think) that are laying or is this normal when they first begin to lay?
I got one large brown egg (I think it may be from Junior my CM but not positive) yesterday and 1 green today. I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything
wrong and this can happen when they first start to lay.

I had one on my last order for April, but it was not packed for some reason. I hope I get one this time.

I wanted some white egg layers too, so I added the Lakenvelder and a Campine too.

Meyer's has so many breeds to choose from, I keep checking, but so far I have not added or changed my order.
Getting close now!!!!! 4 days until the email that they shipped

I, of course, spent the next hour after hearing about the attack reading threads on here on wound care. I'm not home so it's hard since my husband isn't a reader. Thankfully my friend was around! They washed her up and put antibiotic ointment on her (no pain reliever). My friend took her home to care for her since my hubby will be at work the next couple days. I'm sorry if this is all a repeat I can't remember how much I put on here before. They found a strip of skin/feathers hanging in front of her wing and they tacked that in place with superglue. It sounds like the wound on her back is the worst. A couple inches wide and about 4 inches long and exposed the back bone. I don't expect internal injuries if it was our puppy that got her. She's not an aggressive dog, just playful. She's smaller than the chicken! It looks like she was just able to grab feathers and rip them out with the skin. I don't think any of the wounds are even real bite wounds. Which is good since maybe they won't have any dog bacteria in them and have a better chance of not getting infected.

I got an email from my friend this morning. She made it through the night and is still eating/drinking. They are rinsing the wounds and doing what they can to keep infection at bay. We go back home tomorrow. Hopefully the transfer between houses doesn't stress her out too much. Luckily these people are around our chickens and us them that the smells shouldn't be too strange. And we've already exposed her since day 1 to any viruses/bacteria they may have that's different than our house.

I'll keep you posted. I'm really hoping she pulls through this.
So glad she made it through the night and she's eating and drinking. Sounds like all good signs. You're so lucky to have your friend there to help!!!

Very cute... but yes, I agree with your guess of 2 cockerals.

I don't have a BO but my 2 RIR's didn't get the red combs for months.
Can you keep them?

Our first girls did the same thing. Their bodies are still getting used to laying and will do it off and on till they get adjusted.

I have a feeling our BA laid 1 egg a week or so ago because it was different than our other eggs, but then we didn't get any more or 2 a day until today!
My husband just sent me this. His phone has horrible coloring. The one looks almost white but it's the same creamy color we've been getting. The spotted one is what we had that one time before. Who knows!!!

It also had this on it. We've had one other like this too. It doesn't break the membrane inside so it's not like they are eating it. He said both chickens were in the nest box together. LOL! Guess their timing was off. Of course one can't use the nest box right next to that one!

Our friend's daughter called me this morning and said our EE - Amber, is still eating and drinking and started talking! Fingers crossed for her!

just found this thread =D got my order from MM yesterday and the chicks are SO cute!

anyone have pictures of murray mcmurray silver polish (or any polish breeds) SLW or BLRW full grown?

This is a Meyer Hatchery thread, not Murray but here is my pic of our silver polish anyway. :) They are about 8 weeks in this pic.
