Try dying their vents with different colored food coloring : )
Read one time that a woman was going to put lipstick on the vents to tell who was laying. I bet it would work but gave me a bad mental picture of someone bending over a hen applying lipstick......<shiver>Awesome i may have to try that when the time comes!!
Very cute! I'm glad they are all doing good! It's hard to believe that my girls were ever that tiny. Here are 16 of the chicks!
Here is the CW when she first came. She could not walk or hold her head up.
The electrolytes and vitamins seemed to have helped her a lot. Just in a few hours she is speeding around the box. She is still separate for now. She keeps falling into the wet food and water still.
Here she is trying to clean herself up from falling in the food and water. She is eating tiny bits of dry food and is still running around, she still needs to get control of her muscles. She does drink on her own. I am hoping that the improvement continues and I can put her back with the others. They were trampling her before and pecking at her, so I'll try in a couple more hours if she keeps improving. She is a feisty one and a fighter.
Here are some close ups, I think the bluish one is the Blue Andalusian. The brown striped the Golden Laced Wyandotte maybe. The lower black a Dominique or BR? Should be a Dominique since I got two of the Rare Breeds. BR is not listed as a rare one.
I am not sure what this one is, kinda a bluish tint, unless this one is a Splash one for my Blue Andalusian. Lower yellow one is the Salmon Faverolle
Think they gave me a Red Sex Link for the Meal Maker? She's so cute. I am worried about the issues with her in the future from what everyone has said.
Same red one on right with I think one of the brown leghorns
I'll try to get more close ups of them soon. I was shocked that I got them a day early. Plus the post office was opened and it took me awhile to get out. Everyone had to ask questions, I know they wanted me to open the box, but I waited until they got home. They were super nice at the PO though, they were almost as excited as me.
I do have one extra that I did not order and I believe I have picked out the Welsummer, one of the light brown leghorns, but I can't figure out which one is the other leghorn. I don't see more any with that chipmunk stripe. The Easter Eggers look brown with puffy cheeks.
So the extras not sure yet. I have 5 black chicks, guess one is a BA, Cuckoo Maran and one of the black ones has a black beak?
I am so confused, but I am so glad they look good, I hope they all hang in there.
