Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Nancy I was SHOCKED he said that lol. & I kinda told him for my bday I was ordering some chicks for next year, I didn't give him the option to say no. I just got a look. But they open up ordering for next year in nov and my bday is in nov so it worked out perfectly! Then I saw they have a nov 4th hatch day, which is my bday so I'm trying hard not order ducks instead for thy day.

Lynn isn't it great when they fall into our traps

I was hoping he would fall in love
Are your EEs friendly?
One of the new little ones is, but the other two are too scared. Our older EE squats for me and I can rub her back now, but she was the most scared of all my chicks when she was young. She only lets me pet her too.

Yup, we'll have to use all these ideas from each other to convince our husbands to support all of our chicken endeavors.

Poohb- I'm sorry about your loss. I'm still struggling with my EE, my husband and I are talking about just putting her out of her misery, she just doesn't seem to be getting better and I know she can't be happy. It is hard loosing them!

Mine doesnt exactly know how many I got.....he didn't ask either.

Mine noticed almost imeditally there was an extra, I've never seen anyone count that fast lol. But the good thing with a bunch of chicks is they are impossible to count! Does he know about the 2nd order? I would totally get a order for next week and just sneak them in but after the way he saw 1 extra in 8 chicks I'm sure he would notice 5 or 6 extras lol.

Hope the rest of your babies are doing good!

I have a picture of Lizzie my Campine when she was about the age that yours in now.

Her comb has always been bigger than my other Campine. Even when she was three days old. I never worried about her gender though, because her comb never turned bright red. It's had a reddish tint to it since she was 8 weeks old though.

Here's her when she was two weeks old.

and here's her now at 13 weeks.

You just made me feel so much better, thank you! We already have 3 Roos and possibly 3 more, I wasn't looking to add a 7th.

Beautiful pics everyone!! I have had chickens for a few years, but I also just received chicks from Meyers. One batch is 2 weeks old, and the other is 1 week old, and I have been very happy with them!! We did experience some losses during shipment, and it was so hard!! Maybe if I can figure out how to post more pics on here, I will post some. P.S. the golden campines are beautiful, I wish I had known about them before I placed my order!! What are they like?

Sorry your EE isn't doing well. I probably should have let mine go this morning. I just prolonged the inevitable. However, I had one like that this past spring who pulled through so, I just couldn't give up.

My husband drives a truck and is gone often. He wasn't here when the chicks arrived and probably won't even notice how many. I don't think he would care, but I chose just to graze over the actual number.

They are very fun. Both of my Campines are very flighty and scared of people, but they are so beautiful. :love They have such sweet little personalities too.

I am doing mine in two shipments as well. Do you have them all together? Hoping that I can put the new chicks in the brooder with the ones that just arrived yesterday. They should be here in 10 days.

How many did you lose during shipping and within the first few days? All of mine were alive and looking great all day yesterday, none DOA. Then this morning I lost 2. I hope it doesn't take too much longer to be in the 'clear'

I know what you mean, I don't wanna give up on her but I feel horrible for her. I've found a new method to force feed her and she seems to be improving. I'm gonna give her till the morning and see how she is doing.
