Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Ellie laid her first egg today, and each one she lays gets more and more blue! This morning she laid one and it is so beautiful.

I wish I had a better camera that would capture the color right so I could show everyone.
That is so great, I hope one of my little EE's ends up laying blue eggs. When Olivia starts back at least I know I'll have green eggs again. If she ever starts back.

I did take a quick pic...

it's next to a 'large' egg I should have cooked it and taken a photo... it was so cute!
that is small. Daisy's first egg was .5 ounces with no yolk. I'd love to see a tiny one with a tiny yolk, so cute!

All this talk of blue eggs makes me really miss Amber's eggs. I wonder if she'll ever lay again. Who knows if she had internal damage. She still has a few spots that are still scabs so I'm still holding out hope that she'll lay again once she's all healed!

I definitely going to upload pictures of my chickens

I look forward to them!!

I hope she starts laying eggs again for you. I always thought that because of what Sunni went through and the way she was eating, I thought she would never lay eggs. But she surprised all of us and lays one almost every day. :) I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and Amber!

trstyrself: Chickens are very resilient, hopefully with a little more time.

I am still surprised that my BR, Oreo started laying eggs after being attacked by the dog, it was touch and go with her for awhile. Maybe it is better for it to be a little later before she lays so she can use those nutrients for healing first?

Thanks for the fingers crossed everyone. Yeah, I'd definitely rather her heal than lay eggs! She looks a lot better but I looked her over yesterday and she has two small spots that are still scabs. It still amazes me she lives through all that. It's been months and she is still healing! I just hope one day we'll have a blue/green egg again! :)

I can't wait for us to get our next house (not happening any time soon), my daughter and I have our list of what chickens we're getting. DH has gotten bit by the chicken bug for sure. He took down a friend's fence yesterday just so he can have wood to "practice" our next coop! lol
He is even toying with the idea of letting our friend keep her chickens here!!! At first he wasn't even comfortable with the few extra we have over the limit now he is offering to house her 8??

It's been awhile since I've been on here, hope everyone and their chicks are doing good. Mine have gotten huge (they will be 10 weeks tomorrow) but I lost my GLP a few days ago and just this morning I found my frizzle dead. I was kinda hoping you guys could help me figure out what's going on. My polish was fine till about 2 days before she died, then all of a sudden she just kinda hung out in one spot. Wouldn't really roam around with everyone else then the last day she just stood in one spot with her eyes closed. I came home from work and found her laying under a chair in the yard with liquid coming out of her mouth and about 15 mins later she started flapping her wings like crazy and more liquid was coming out of her mouth and she died. I didn't see her eat but I did see her drinking that last day. My frizzle has been acting a little weird but he was running around eating and drinking with everyone else so I figured he just missed Hoda (the GLP) cause they were best friends. I tried looking around to see if I can find what is going on but I couldn't. You guys have any ideas?

Where are you keeping them? Is it possible that they could have eaten something toxic to chickens? Here is a list of plants that are bad for chickens to eat: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/627282/comprehensive-list-of-poisonous-plants-and-trees Other things to consider as well: avocado skins and pits and undercooked or raw beans are toxic to chickens; overly salty or caffeinated foods and drinks can be bad on their little bodies; sugary foods are not healthy for them, either.

My only other thought is that perhaps the GLP had a blockage from eating something, which would explain why she was regurgitating. It doesn't explain why the frizzle died, though, so I don't know...
