Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Sadly, no. We have a dull egg carton too. I get around 3 brown eggs a day now from the 6 hens. I miss Olivia's green eggs too. I wonder if there is some time frame when they start back? Maybe they need the full 21 days that normal bloodiness lasts?

Nope, they shouldnt. Moe, my broody, has gone back to laying already. I think my Izzy stopped for the winter. Maybe that's what's going on with Olivia too? Hopefully not. I still haven't seen my last EE or NB in the nests yet but still holding out hope the EE will lay a colored egg. A girl can dream right?
how old are the little ones now and is everyone getting along?

YAY!!! Ellie lays green eggs!!! :celebrate She is 23 weeks old to the day. It's really hard to capture the correct color in the pictures. It's kind of a blue green. I didn't have the chance to get pictures of the girls today, but I'm going to try and get some this week.
Completely and totally jealous:D:D. Very pretty egg! I'd love to see pics of the girls and your new blue egg layer. Do you have more EE's? I forget

I have one other. But she is my clean faced EE and she has white earlobes. So I'm thinking she will either lay brown or white eggs. Which is okay. Im just happy I have one who lays green! :celebrate

I'm going to try and get some pictures of the girls tomorrow. :)

I meant broodiness on that last post, funny that it says bloodiness, but I'm glad that you understood.

Yeah, maybe she is stopping for winter. I thought they did not do that the until after a year old. I guess she'll be ready when she's ready.

My little ones are now 11 weeks now and I find myself confusing them with some of the big ones, so they must be getting big. Daisy the White Rock actually squatted for me today, a first, even though she has already been laying.

I hope that you get a pretty green or blue egg soon. Olivia was laying everyday, so it is so weird not to get eggs from her. Oh well, at least I broke her from being broody.

Nancy - How is your broody and also your chickens with the black spots?

Someone else on here had chickens with fowl pox, sorry I cannot remember who, how are they now?

LOL and I read broodiness not bloodiness. Kinda gross with the word bloodiness

Moe, the broody, is no longer broody and back to squatting and laying. The black spots are still there but not worse so I'm thinking not fowl pox. I have to stop reading about diseases and pests because I always think mine have it then... just like when my 2 boys were babies

My big girls are the ones with fowl pox. They don't seem to be getting any worse so that's a good sign. I did vaccinate all of them (except the ones showing symptoms) and all of my 10wk old future layers in my brooder coop.
Let me tell you, I might not bat an eye butchering my own chickens and turkeys but stabbing that vaccine through my babies wings was pretty hard for me. Ugh I felt so bad, but I don't want them to ever got it so I did what I had to do. Thank goodness my Mother came over and helped me since my husband was harvesting soybeans and vaccinating is not a one person job. We vaccinated 100+ chickens in two hours :/ My back hurts just thinking about it.

I don't know what's up with Olivia then, she was my best layer. Oh well, she is nice and fat and healthy with a big appetite, I guess that's all that matters.

I'm glad your chickens are doing okay. Mine do have the occasional black spots too. I almost decided not to get chickens when I read a lot of the posts on this site and others about diseases. I finally found some good common sense posts on here, that helped me decide that a lot of these illnesses are rare, etc. Some of that stuff is scary.

I did not have a laptop and much computer access (besides work) when my kids were small, which is probably a good thing. (Of course, I am no "spring chicken") I would have been constantly stressed as a mom if I did. There is such a thing as "too much information" for sure.

Catching and vaccinating 100 chickens? Wow!! I imagine your back hurts! Glad to hear that you got ahead of it, hope they all do well.

I got some pictures of the girls. They weren't cooperating well, so I was mostly only able to get pictures of their heads. That's really the only part of them that has changed though, so not a big deal.

My camera is being dumb, so I'm sorry some of the photos aren't very clear. (They are 23 weeks old)
