It's so hard to respond to individual posts on iPad. Had whole thing typed up and lost it. Arghhh

MsChichenMomma. You're in my thoughts and hoping you get to keep some girls!

Congrats to the new layers an Pip, pretty pics as usual!!

I'll be reading but can't post all the time. I think I'll be a bit busy with repairs

I hate times like that. We just had a day like that too. Cleaning the house, go to put something under the kitchen sink and see a drip. Move the box of hand towels it dripped on and there in an inch of water in the cupboard... busted disposal. Then go down stairs to fix the toilet that's been shut off because it's leaking and the bolts and nuts are completely rusted together so we need to replace the whole toilet instead of the $3 seal. Argh! Why does it all have to happen at once?

On a chicken note, Amber squatted again for me today. I was just standing there watching them drink and then barely moved my hand and she half squatted. She almost looked like she wasn't sure what to do bouncing between a squat and not. lol!

My daughter is entering 4 of her chickens in the National Stock Show coming in Jan. Marble (BR), Sky (BA), Flower (D'Uccle), and Boomerang (SLP). I'm not sure how stiff the competition will be, I hope they do well considering they are all hatchery birds.

Our first egg FINALLY. Our girls are about 21 weeks. This egg is tiny but with a great shell and we are feeling grateful. Not sure who the supplier was either!! It was just outside the nest box too so tonight we will add some wooden eggs. So happy, and on my husband's birthday too!

Oh wow! So sorry to hear, everything breaking all at once, the worst is the computer since you can't make the money to pay for the repairs. It is a lot easier to type a response on computer then an iPad, I bet. Of course, my other device is a Kindle and it is even worse to type one.

Best wishes for speedy repairs of everything!

Yay for Amber!!!!! I have a couple that do that, it's like they want to be rubbed, then get embarrassed and change their minds.

Best wishes to your daughter!

What a cute little egg. A birthday gift from one of the chickens to your husband.

The chances of me being able to keep my girls aren't looking too good. We still haven't heard anything from the city council, and I'll know for sure in one-two weeks if we'll be moving. My mom said that in two weeks if we find out that we are able to move there, I'll have to start finding homes for the chickens right away so that I'm not scrambling to find them homes last minute. So it looks like I'll only have the chickens for another 3-6 weeks.

I'll let you know as soon as I find out, and if anyone who is somewhat close to Michigan is interested in some young Meyer girls, maybe I can see if my dad would be willing to take a road trip. We'll see.

Lizzie and Lucy started getting white earlobes at about 8 weeks. (I think) I'd have to look through my photos to be sure. Lucy started laying eggs at 18 weeks and 5 days, and Lizzie started at 25 weeks and 6 days.

I hope that you are able to keep your flock. If you do have to re-home them I might be interested in taking a few depending on how far you are from me. By the way, congrats on picture of the week.

My Meyer girls are starting to get red faces! They should start laying next month!
