Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Hey Everyone! Just got this email and thought I'd share:
Now, for a limited time, you can buy an Egg Skelter for $10 OFF the usual price!
Buy yours today at MannaPro.com and use the discount code SPRING14 at checkout.

It says it is 24.95 already when I checked the site. I think it is the same as the one I have which was almost double that price. Maybe there's a trick to ordering one, but that's not bad, plus $10 off. Hmmm, maybe I'll get another.

THANK YOU!!!' Now that I have 3 eggs...yes, 3...I "need" one.

Day 20 on the eggs. No pips or movement yet. I put another thermometer in there that is supposed to be calibrated and it is showing much lower than the one we've been using. Now I'm worried that we've had it too low the whole time and it's going to take much longer to hatch. Argh! I am picking up more eggs tomorrow.

I learned about hatching by reading everything I could find on here.

I ordered 23 rare pullets and 3 bantam EEs from Meyer. The lady that was going to pick up some chicks from a feed store for me tomorrow isn't going to make it so I think I'll have to cancel that order. I don't think I'll make it out there myself, but maybe. ;)

I hope it works out for you. I've been reading a lot on here on hatching too and I've heard the same about the lower temps making it take longer. I hope that is the case for your chicks and a lot hatch out. BYC is a great tool for education.

Oh and here is the last part of the email. Just in case anyone else is thinking about getting one. I checked it out and the deal looks pretty good. Shipping is 7.95. The one I bought on Amazon is now $42.95 with $7.99 shipping, so this is a great deal. (and of course you need one for 3 eggs!)

"Offer expires on March 31st, or while supplies last. Available in three different colors and great as a gift!

That is a good deal. It is $41.60 from meyer shipped to CO. I might have to order one for my bantam eggs. :)

I ordered one too. DH didn't even bat an eye. I just said since we will be having more bantam eggs we need another one so we don't have to still keep an egg carton on the counter. All he wanted to know is whether or not it was the same as the one we already have. Guess he doesn't want them looking differently. lol

I need to setup my brooder tonight. I might be getting some chicks tomorrow. :)

I kept putting off ordering one from Amazon and I saw they raised the price a bit and just didn't go through with the order. Must have had a weird feeling

I'm confused. Which eggs do u use a skelter for? I've always thought u have to put edible eggs in the fridge, & hatching eggs have to sit pointy side down.

Eggs for eating only need to be refrigerated if you wash them (it removes the protective coating - "bloom"). It is not necessary to wash them. Some do some don't. It's a personal preference. After reading about it, we don't wash or refrigerate.
