Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I got my order too. I was very surprised there were no DOA since it was 13 deg last night here. The heat pack worked! We do have one with either splay leg or a broken leg. It can't walk anywhere. My daughter is trying to nurse it back to health. We have it separated and a fuzzy sock in with it for a nest. We also have 2 or 3 weak ones that we are forcing to drink.

We ordered 5 bantam EE and 20 rare breed pullets. Here's what I think we have:
1 blue americauna (it looks like a bantam but might just be small)
1 Ancona or black australorp
1 Sicilian Buttercup
5 cochins - 1 white, 1 splash, 3 partridge
1 partridge rock
5 polish - 1 white crested blue, 2 buff, 1 silver laced, and 1 solid black (strange!)
1 sultan - this is one of the weak ones
1 sumatra
1 gold laced wyandotte?
we can identify at least 4 of the Bantam EEs

and 4 unknowns. I'll try to post pics soon. They are all on my phone.

Ok I thought it was an extra. I got mine in 2 weeks ago. Here is my partridge cochin something to compare with. You might talk to someone at Meyer and ask if you can email them a picture to look at and tell you what it looks like to them.
I described it to her and she told me to send a pic in a few weeks. I am certain it is not a partridge cochin. Not only is the coloring not right but the feathering is much to sparse to be a cochin.

Next week can't come soon enough!!! I have 18 coming to Alaska!! Suppose to be in the high 30's and 40's so it is perfect timing. I ordered all females 4 EE, 2 rare marans assortment, 1 cuckoo maran, 1 silver laced wyandotte, 1 gold laced wyandotte, 1 salmon favorelle, 1 dominique, 1 barred rock, 1 new hampshire red, 1 buff orp, 1 golden campine, 1 Delaware and of course the meal maker. I am so ready for them to come. I'll put pics up as soon as I can. I am adding to my small backyard flock of 6 (3 EE, 2 leghorns, and a silver spangled hamburg) that I got last year from McMurray. I ordered 15 of the rainbow layers last year but unfortunately 4 days after they went into the outdoor coop the neighbor dog got in and all but 7 (one was a roo and we stewed him this winter) got out. We never found anything but feathers, but none came back. :( This year they will stay inside longer, and the coop is SUPER predator proof. So excited!!!

And a speckled Sussex. Now that's 18.

Here are most of the LF girls.

All black polish? I've never seen one like this. It has a head bump, clean legs, and all black. This pic makes it look lighter in some areas but in person it is pitch black. I can't find anything on their site that looks like this.

This is a mystery. Any ideas? It's back is a black and white chipmunk stripe.

This one looks like too many other ones to really know for sure.

This one has a lot of white. I'm leaning towards Ancona.

Here are some of the bantams. The bottom one I think is a blue americauna. It as fluffy cheeks but is really tiny. I don't know if it's one of our 5 bantam EE's or if it's just small. The top right one is a mystery as is the top two left ones. The dark one is a D'Anver we already had and the buff is a buff silkie we already had.

Here's all the bantams (I took the eco-glow out for a second to get a pic) The grey/white ones with visible wings are bantam white frizzle cochins. The white one on the far left I think is a sultan (she's in with the bantams because she is unsteady and was getting pushed around with the LF). You can see 2 that are definite EE's but the others I'm not sure about. We are supposed to have 5 of them. I tend to think it's the 2 mystery chicks plus the blue, and the other little white one is the last mystery.

Hello everyone! Seems like a lot of Meyer babies right now, maybe you can help with my Enigma chick!

First of all though, I ordered 16, hatched on Mon 2/24/14, received today 2/26/14
I ordered a mix

3 Brown leghorns
5 Golden Buffs
3 EE's
A trio of Buff Brahmas
And a Partridge Cochin (for my son)
Plus the MMM

I received 16 chicks
One DOA was a Golden Buff
Which leaves me with 15 (one was touch and go but finally started drinking and seems fine now.)
I easily identified all but one!

The partridge cochins are a mottled brown - gray with cream underside and wing tips.
This little dude has the feathered feet, is black with a white underside, and has a white dot on his head. The dot makes me think he is a barred auto sexing breed.

Anyone see any chicks like this before? He is only lightly feathered, I just wonder if he isn't a mix breed of some sort, although I was assured by customer service this was not possible

!!!!

Regardless my son is in love

My guess is cuckoo maran. The legs can be feathered or non with hatchery birds. From what I've read even breeders can throw one that they aren't going for.

Definitely an ancona, I have two! I would handle it as much as possible especially around laying age, they are EXTREMELY flighty! I can't keep my little hens in their pen, good layers though!!!

That is what I am leaning towards. I am a bit disappointed but not too much! They will give me a credit for him and I will keep him for breeding, and hopefully get some darker eggs layers!

I have one that has the same head thing going on but it's yellow, so I can guess that it is a polish then? I have only had chickens for about a year so it is going to take me a while to figure out what I have from my assorted packs.

Trsturself: could it be a silkie?
A black polish would be neat though.
Nevermind the legs are not feathered, so not a silkie.

Ooooh, the baby pictures are killing me! :love Mine don't come until May 19! I'm still getting my 2 Black Copper Marans, 1 Welsummer, and 1 Silver Gray Dorking from them, although I have been very, very, very tempted to add an Easter-egger as well. Must... Stay... Strong... :th

For reference, to those that are trying to identify their chicks, here're some of my Meyer girls as babies. :) Hope it helps a little, at least.
