Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

And your local page! I found a guy who is close to me...who am I kidding! He's actually 6 hours away, but I'm still considering it. Especially cause the CL can be sexed immediately! Fool proof! Well, it's my backup plan at least. The only thing I don't like is that they are not vaccinated. I bought the mareks vac for my three roos when I hatched them (hoping for all 16 eggs to hatch). Don't know if I'd want to order it for one bird.

Yeah, it will definitely be a back-up plan as I get closer to hatch day. I will post on my local page and see if anyone has anything. Not having the Marek's vax kind of concerns me, but I don't want to buy 100 doses either!

LOL... mine are such pooping machines I can't do that!! Although my dog could just follow them around and 'clean up' after them for me!

Oh boy I wish. My BB has a very different looking egg so I know when she lays... 2 maybe 3 a week if I'm lucky   But she's so pretty I don't care. 
mine lays a creamy colored egg while everyone else's are brown. I love it! She is my prettiest too. I am very found of the light brahmas as well and will have one again when my order arrives in 100 days! (And counting with the app I just downloaded)

I finally put up my ad to rehome two of the three AM boys I hatched. I cannot believe all three are boys. I decided keeping one means an endless supply of EEs! I will be sad to let them go. My first hatchling are already 7weeks old, but I just let go of the hope that one of them will turn into a girl.

If they are around the same size, I don't think there will be much bullying going on. As long as there is enough space for everyone and there is no pressure for roosting spots and feeder/waterer stations they will most likely be fine.

I would still quarantine them for a week though, just in case. I made a mistake not quarantining a couple years ago when bringing in a dozen new hens and had a really bad outbreak of lice in the coop. Luckily it wasn't a contagious disease or something like that. It is SO much better to be safe than sorry.

I'm having doubts that my wish for a CL will be fulfilled...maybe I need to start stalking the breeder pages?

Through Craigslist I found a small breeder only 30 min away and they have lots of different breeds throughout the year and they vaccinate too. So you never know!

Goodness, I can't believe they all ended up being cockerels. So you're keeping one? How are you deciding? I love EE Roos... so pretty!

Yes, I agree with the quarantining for a little bit. The Meyers site states they worm and are vaccinated but reading about respiratory diseases makes me nervous. Mites and Lice would be a big hassle too. It would be so nice to get them POL though and I would think Meyer would be the way to go!

If something bad is going to happen, I'd rather get it over and done with. But, you are all right. It is not worth the risk of infecting my little ones. Thanks.

As far as deciding which roo to keep...there is one that I'm more drawn too personality wise. He is calmer and friendlier and he looks like he'll have the fluffiest checks. On a weird side note, I posted my ad in the buy, sell, trade forum for the other two. I got a response right away. At first, I was so relieved, but then I noticed the guy had just joined and never posted at all. Kinda left me feeling weird about giving my roos to him. Am I just being overly protective?
