More beautiful EEs!!!! Makes me anxious to get mine!I hope you get the issues figured out! We had just gotten rid of the lice we were having and then we get tons of rain for days in a row while we were out of town and the girls were locked in their smaller run for a week. They didn't have anything dry to dust bathe in (they emptied the tub I keep in the run with them) so the lice came right back. Sprayed everyone with protector again today. Our BR is definitely more sensitive to them. She has a lot of feathers missing on her belly and back end and has red skin. No one else shows any signs of them (I spray everyone though). Here's some pics of our EE.![]()

[/COLOR] The above pic is around 5-6 months old, right before she was attacked. She's not nearly so pretty since then. Here's a more recent pic of her (almost 1 1/2 yr old now). Her entire back and rear end were basically torn off. She also had wounds under her wing. She hasn't molted yet so there are still some feathers around her neck that we had to cut to clear the wounds. Her back has minimal feathers on it. I think from the scarring. I hope one day she'll get her pretty coat back, but it's ok if she doesn't because she's friendly.
And here's some pics of our bantam EE She's the one on the right by herself

Her head started turning white at this age
Here she is now at 3 months

Yikes! I am so sorry that you have to go through this!! at least, your BR doesn't have a prolapse. I hope the feed change and supplements do the trick for all the ailments!!OK, not to add more confusion but another issue popped up. I added golf balls to the nests recently because I had found remnants of an egg in a nest a few weeks ago. Then this weekend when cleaning out the nest I found remnants of an egg. But oddly no shell at all so I figured they ate it all. Light bulb should have gone on but no... So the other night when I went to check for mites ... again ... after a minute or so 4 chickens jumped off the roosts and started pecking away at something on the poop board ... it was a soft shelled egg. Now this morning when I went out to the girls my BR Henrietta is always the most chatty and follows me around and squats. She was looking a bit poorly and not eating. Her butt was droopy so I was thinking stuck egg. Hours later when I went to check on them, she came out of the coop all perky and I checked the nest and there was a soft shelled egg. And the one I had found on the poop board the other night was near where she was roosting. Soooo, now I have another issue to add to the rest. I'm so worried these are going to all add up to something bad. Especially with my one having the prolapse and having to put her down, one dying suddenly, Moe with the feather issues and now my BR with soft shelled egg. Seriously, has anyone heard of this many issues in one flock... and it's nothing??? So I'm going to give her calcium and I've also read that it could be a vit. D deficiency so she can't absorb the calcium?? I put ACV in the water since it's still pretty cool out here. Goodness, this is ridiculous.
