Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

400
. Had to share this pic of my new rooster I named jack. I just love him. I bought him from Myers in January as a day old peep.

Handsome! What other chickens do you have?

Update on my babies this morning.... I just went to wake them up & Coco's crop is completely flat, while Brownie's was just a tiny bulge, but he was back over at the feed dish loading up! I must have caught them last night as they finished eating for the evening & that's why their crops were so large. Usually they have stopped eating either long before or after I go "tuck them in". Glad it doesn't appear to be anything to worry about! They must be having (or getting ready for) a growth spurt!

If you feel the crop and its like a squishy balloon then I would worry about sour crop. A normal full crop will be firm and you will feel all of the texture of the feed in it. A compacted crop is harder to spot( looks like a regular full crop), but the bird will make head/neck jerking motions in an attempt to clear the blockage.

It was firm, but not solid, but it was a lot larger amount than I would have expected. I hadn't seen then eat, so I want to sure how long it had been there, which was why I was concerned but they were quite active which made me feel better. Nervous mommy syndrome ;)

Thanks for your help!

So I recently found this site:
http://www.sustainablepoultrynetwork.com/spn-recognized-flocks/

There is a farm not too far from us called Allee' Bubba Farms and it is listed as a SPN flock on the site. They have Partridge Chanteclers & Black Ameraucanas. Not sure if they sell hatching eggs, but they do sell chicks at times. Those Black Ameraucanas should lay blue/green eggs since they should be the right type since they're certified. I hope so anyway. I don't plan on getting any right now, but just planning for the future. Some of you may see your states listed too.

We're going there today! They have organic veggies, eggs, strawberries, honey and other things. Plus they have horse back riding too. I may be keeping my 13 yr old niece and 12 yr old nephew some this summer, so they'd enjoy the horse back riding I'm sure. Hopefully it is as nice as it sounds on their Facebook page.
That sounds like a great place... how was it? Sadly nothing near me.

These girls will be 16 weeks old tomorrow!
Very pretty!!

Jack is quite the looker. I love BR roosters! If I could have them I would get one of those and an EE rooster!!

Coop came and I'm a happy chickie momma!!!
They're all settled in but I had to chase them down and put them inside the coop at dusk. They screamed bloody murder!!

Here's the new set up...

coop on the trailer and moving to the yard...

DH and one DS taking a break...

Happy in the new house...

ZsaZsa loves the camera!!

The whole set up... We call it Chicken City!!

in a few weeks my DH will cut a hole into the run wall and make a bridge of some sort so the chicks can get into the big run.
