I am leaning toward boy on your silkie Nancy, but I was also thinking the wattles should be bigger on a nonbearded. But it's really so hard to say. My friend said last night that she's now thinking the buff one (the one I posted a pic of) might be a girl! lol
You just don't know with them. Sometimes they are obvious and sometimes they'll fool even experienced breeders until the crow or lay an egg. Fingers crossed it's a girl!
Thanks for your opinion. I posted on the Silkie sexing thread and 2 ppl. said cockerel. I guess it's a watch and see kinda Silkie!
Oh my gosh. Nothing. Trying to breathe.
Oh wow. What else can you do?? is there a way to get a phone # for the seller and call? obviously there's no tracking # or you would have done something with that.
And without that the PO can't do anything.
I just keep hoping she didn't ship. This is crazy. We're all thinking of you![]()
so sorry, hang in thereOh my gosh. Nothing. Trying to breathe.
Yay!! Congrats!! Those are such pretty colors. That one looks as dark as a marans eggPatty, one of my Golden Buffs, laid her first egg at 16 1/2 weeks!! Nice dark color. So, I now have 2 out of 24 laying.

Thank you all for your sympathies. At this point, I doth know what to do except wait to hear from the seller. She was such a good communicator through the sale and even few days after that I think she may not have sent them. This is severely disappointing either way, but I am still hopeful to hear from her soon. I really appreciate you guys. It is so nice to have a group that gets it.
I'm hoping that there has been a delay in shipping for some reason...I really hope they are not sitting in a hot post office truckThank you all for your sympathies. ok, I finally was able to get some pics of Brownie & Coco - my (non-Meyer's) silkies. They are approx 6.5 - 7 weeks, though Coco may be 1 week behind Brownie.
Brownie - note the small comb but crazy crest but TOTALLY acts like a roo in personality
Here's Coco - higher ridged comb, the start of wattles, but is submissive in personality.

That is total opposite of what I was thinking originally, but you may be right given how Coco is developing all of a sudden. Either way, I have a home set up for any roos.My guess - Brownie = girl, coco = boy
