Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

No way that is a  Meyer BR is it?    He looks a much  higher quality than hatchery stock

MB
He is a Mayer he came from the feb 10th hatch date this spring. I had 2 others one had about the same body type and feathering but way to many spikes on the comb and the other had a narrow stance and feathers did not look nearly as good. I culled the other 2 and am keeping him. I know he is not perfect but I like him.

I don't know anything about breed standards, so, I'll have to take your word for it about not being perfect. ;)

Now your chickens are beautiful...but those tomatoes!!! Wow, so gorgeous!!! I have not had too much luck yet with my large tomatoes this year since I got a late start, but I still have hope. Here's my recent garden bounty. Not much, but delicious!
Thanks on the tomatoe, there is nothing like a fresh garden tomatoe! I think yours looks yummy and you have zucchini that is one thing we didn't plant, but we have cucumbers and squash coming out of our ears!
So Ginger, our Golden Buff stayed out all last night along with our dog Maxie who always stays out all night. She was fine this morning and Maxie did not bother her. I need to do make sure Ginger is in next time. Incidents like this make me hopeful that maybe Maxie knows better then to hurt them? Maybe she is used to them? Maybe I've just been lucky? So a lot of people are getting chicks in the next week or so right? Who's getting what? How many? Inquiring minds want to know....or maybe just me...;)
- Wow on Maxie, maybe she can be a flock dog in the future. We have four dogs, we have a young Sheppard male that we hope to train to guard the chickens. Right now he is a young punk that doesn't listen very good. He is about 9 month so we have some work to do. We also have an 8 year old Anatolian and he seems to be very good near the chickens. He will just lay in the yard next to the chicken area while I am out doing chicken chores.
Love your choices! @LynnEBC I think it is a good sign that there is hope for Maxie and the chickens. Very jealous of your fresh veggies. Another year when I was too busy to get a vegetable garden going. My perennial gardens are looking pretty good, at least.
what perennials do you have? I love gardening regardless if it is veggies, perennials or herbs. We use a lot of herbs for us and our animals.
Mine are coming in a week... Aug 5th or 6th hopefully! :fl 3 Golden Buff 1 Buff Orpington 1 Speckled Sussex 1 Exchequer Leghorn (or 2 maybe... ) !!!!! Nice selection :)
Nice choices, our Buff roo's are starting to turn that goldeny color that they get, so pretty!
You could separate her. You could also do the food coloring on the vent trick to be sure. If she lays, you'll have an egg with food coloring on it. My Dellie and RIR both lay eggs that seem to change significantly in color and speckling. It makes it difficult to ID the layer of the egg.
great idea!
my Meyer Barred Rock rooster!
Wow!

So here are some pics from today. This was after their breakfast, I also some better shots of all our roo's today. The first four shots are of our run.

either Bruno or Rocco, we named our buff roo's those names. I have a harder time telling them apart.

buckeye hen? She has a different coloring and is smaller than the RR hens. This is still not a great shot, I will work on that one.
