My post office was terrible! I called the day they shipped to let them know, then on the day they we're "scheduled" to arrive. They hadn't come in but I was assured I'd get a call. Nothing. I called a few more times the next morning (I'm sure I bugged the heck out of them) but was consistently told "Oh, we DID have some birds come in, but they're not yours". Turns out they we're left on my porch....mid-January...no knock, no call (Thank goodness Hubbs was home and heard the peeping from the living room).Hello guys...
My USPS status says that my order left the transport station close to me at 7:53am, and said guaranteed delivery by 3pm. I have never had that happen with my orders before, I've always got a call first thing in the morning to come and get the chickys. So it leaves me wondering if they are going to sit on some truck somewhere until they make it to my post office in the morning, or they will be getting to the post office this afternoon sometime. I think I am going to go down there and find out what they know. Who needs them sitting on a truck overnight. .and won't that get hot!
Also I have a question for those of you with Exchequer Leghorns, do any of you have them in cold weather climates? I know they are a Mediterranean breed, and was wondering if they could survive winters in mid New York State area. I am 90 miles north of NYC... so not like Buffalo, but still cold nonetheless. Also, how are their personalities? Wondering if they are super skittish.
Tick, tock, Tick, tock. Tick tockkkkkkkkkk
Come on little box... arrive at my house!!!!!!!!!!!!
MB
I don't think that's the norm though...
I love the way the roos look!
I'm a tad jealous!

After checking them and breeders, I had to end up ordering from Ideal

They're closer though, so a faster transit for our hot summer...
So sweet!
Well here is a little top view of the new 6 fuzzy balls. They are going to share the brooder with my week old EE I hatched out and my 3 week old black Isbar chick that was my only hatchling from 7 shipped eggs. The two older ones were actually frightened to death when I lowered the little ones in. The Meyer 6 started gobbling up crumble right away! 3 Buckeye, 2 Olive Eggers, and one Golden Buff
Text message from USPS says my peepers are in town !!!!

I had to order from Ideal this time, for a few reasons. I'm hoping their EEs are comparable to Meyer's...
I was really happy with their colors (and customer service). I have a really nice Buff Orp from there too.
But I have 2 EEs, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Salmon Faverolles, and 2 Russian Orloffs shipping the 27th!
