Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Oh no, so sorry. How old was she?
Too young, 7 months.
Lost her to the new pup. This is the 2nd one he's gotten in 2 weeks.
I don't let them out together, but it the span of an hour, he somehow moved the chair that I had blocking off the back door, nudged the door open, and got out there.
New measures are being taken and we're going to kennel him when we're gone. I guess being in the house isn't enough.
I've never been one to get rid of animals but, if this doesn't help..it's him or the chickens.
My other dog is so good with them.....
Well he was. He as out when the attack happened so now I don't know if I can trust him either.

can you please post up some pic's? I think we have a couple, one for sure maybe as many as four? Nobody has been able to tell me yea, all the true breeders on the Barn thread said they were not of course the breed standard. I beg to differ as I think one is for sure pretty close. Here she is at about 17 weeks...

It looks like one to me?! But I never had one. Why do the others think she's not? Also,, I think you can email Meyer with the pics and they will tell you what she is.
This is from a post on another thread from 2009 - it just makes me laugh - so I thought I'd share it :

I couldn't read all these posts, Wayne I hate you , you people have all lost your minds. I'm going to invest in pharmacuticals, you people need help big time. Your like those crazy old ladies who have hundreds of cats. Only difference is if one of yours dies you can eat it. You'll get a 12 step program all right and every step will be in chicken poop. I think I can hear the sirens now, I told her to put the phone down, but she kept running around the house screaming "we do so need more chickens, aaaaaggghhhhhhhh!". I hope an egg explodes in your incubator!

Too funny. That's how I feel too... why do we think we 'NEED' more chickens?????? I don't say that about dogs

still waiting...they were only an hour away from my post office at 6:45 in Pittsburgh this am and Amity doesn't have them and neither does Washington. Argh!

I lost another girl yesterday..my head honcho BR.
I'm down to 3 layers (and one Silkie). I have 8 more coming but..it's still hard to have to start nearly all over

Good luck to everyone with deliveries today!
How sad. It would be hard to practically start over with chicks. Did dogs get all the others too?

So sorry that happened.

On a side note, I checked Meyer's just for fun and I don't know if it's my internet but NOTHING is coming up as available lol
I think that happens this time of week. They are getting ready to put up what is available for next week. I saw the same thing last week and thought it was my computer not displaying pics.

My latest Meyer chicks are crazy! I have one Ex Leghorn, BO and 2 GB that go bonkers trying to get at me whenever I'm near the brooder. If I stick my hand in there they are all over me. I never had this happen before. And when I clean it out they don't run in fear they are just so curious. But the other 6 are still pretty fearful of me.
Also, they don't sleep under the EcoGlow at night ... they all cram on top. I know it's summer but it has been pretty cool here (NOT complaining it's been the most awesome summer
weather I can remember). I pushed them under when they were 3 days old but they climbed right back on top and all snuggled in a heap. I gotta get a pic. They won't fit to much longer.

here are a few pics... 17 weeks old...
NOT from Meyer:

Skye the CCL that squats for me

Eva the Cream Brabanter peeking out

Eva again... wherever I am she will jump up to be close to me
face is getting a little pink!!

Faye an Ideal EE... still regrowing her tail

Bonnie Blue CCL

Patty Patty the White Silkie from Ideal... I guess she's a she??? Still don't know but no
wattles or comb to speak of.

Above is Cleo my clean faced EE from Meyer... egg shells on her beak LOL
They gorge on egg shells at night. They hate their oyster shell... talk about silly girls!

He's gotten 2, my fav EE and then this girl...
But that's 2 too many. I understand dogs are dogs, but I guess its just because my other dog was not this hard. And I had them both inside the house. Thought I was covered..

I have 8 that will be here next Thursday morning (28th). But I've been wanting some white layers as well...and I've kind of gotten hooked on the dorkings now..they look so sweet and I have yet to hear anything negative.

COChix -

Beautiful birds !! :love

LOL, these were my thoughts this week reading about all of you getting more chicks. I guess I am lucky chicken math has not taken over my life. Then again my first go around is with 28 chickens, of which we now have four roosters! Two buff orph's and two RIR's. Things are starting to get a little more heated between the boys. Anyway, I hope to not succumb to chicken math, lol. Too funny really made me lol.

just because she doesn't fit the breed standard. I have emailed pics before and they were not able to id for sure. Need to take some updated shots as those are a couple weeks old and send them to Myers. I think we have one Barnie, one Cornish and the other three, don't know yet. That being said, I did read that they are slow to mature, so time will tell I guess.

So cute :)
cute girls and boots. On the curiosity of your birds, all of ours are from Myer and they all are pretty curious and love to explore. Little One, one of the EE is a trouble maker already. Last night I watched her at dusk running around eyeing the big tree that is over the coop but not enclosed in the run area and I could her her little brain working...she was saying "oh that tree looks like a good place to roost." She flew up on the 6 ft chain link and was attempting to roost. I got the hose and discouraged that, we have to put up some higher wire around the runs so they don't fly out. Today she got on top of one of the gates and I had to go get her down. She was trying to get to a box of produce we received for them....

They made it!
super cute, seems like just yesterday that ours were that size.
