I came across this while I was searching for solutions to frozen water too. There is a link to Mother Earth News too on the same page, thought that the page might be helpful to you too.Yep was a child competitive gymnast, I would warn anyone who has children who want to be a gymnast, don't let them! At least not competitively, it is sooooo hard and damaging to a young child's still developing body.
Thank you, haven't seen you for a bit. Hope your well, or maybe I missed your posts.
Hey gang,
So I am looking to streamline a few things for the flock to help make it easier on my boyfriend for my surgery in a couple weeks, So looking at waterers and dealing with that in below 0 temps. I am curious if anyone on here has experience with the horizontal nipples?
If so, how did they do I the freezing cold, did they freeze?
Did you use them with a bucket?
Did you get submersible heater for the bucket to keep from freezing? If so which brand did you use?
Right now I am leaning towards the horizontal nipples (as I have heard the nipples don't freeze like the vertical ones can), with a bucket system and a submersible heater/de-icer. Will set up three waterers possibly. Any feedback would've greatly appreciated.
Will be installing several PVC style feeders as well,so we can maybe fill the feeders one once a week or so.
Thanks!
