Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

They are fine just to have around. If you are planning on showing them it would be best to buy from a breeder.

No I just want a flock that doesn't produce to many eggs ,self propagates, and is nice to lookat. I also want something large to fight off preditors and fairly independent

I haven't ordered from meyer ever but I know Mcmurray had a hundred percent right when I ordered my langshan from them in april, and of all the things I've heard about meyer sexing problems was not one of them

Just a heads up that chickens can't really defend themselv s from predators besides jumping if up on the roost and freaking out.

I ordered 4 hens and received 4 hens. I thought one might be a roo, but that was my inexperience and fear (it was a hen). They are now 8 weeks old.

I see a few people who have posted have purchased White Marans from Meyer in the past few years. What color eggs did your White Marans end up laying? Also, if anyone has gotten any Golden Cuckoo Marans from Meyer I would love to know what color eggs they ended up laying. (If someone has already posted egg pictures would you mind posting them again? I have been reading all the posts but am only up to page 550!)

I did purchase 5 pullets from Meyer in the beginning of May (2017):

1 "Frost" White Sport Legbar
4 Blue Splash Marans

I was and am currently very pleased with their customer service and health of the chicks I received. So much so I am ordering around 20 chicks again at the end of July!

We currently have 5 chicks from Meyer, received May 23. We have a Gold laced and Silver laced bearded Polish, a Mille Fleur and Porcelain De Uccles, a Speckled Sussex, and we did have a Spitzhauben rooster that died his 3rd day, and a black silkie that died the day after. Never figured out what was wrong with them, but the rest are getting really big and are doing well. Has anyone gotten De Uccles from here, and are they show quality or just average?

Average I have a Mille that I hatched out of an egg from Meyer. If you want show quality then go with a breeder.
