Meyer Hatchery Giving A Free Chick

I guess the reason I like the concept of the 'free' chick is because I like the idea of a surprise. I dont have any illusions that saving a couple of dollars is any big deal. However, for me at least it is fun wondering what breed I will get. I plan on giving most eggs away to neighbors anyway but I think its a fun promotion.

I have been giving away several dz eggs a week to the local food ministries for years.
Many years ago it was sometimes 20 dz a week but now that my business has grown it is often more like 8 dz a week to our church's food pantry.
I never knew about the free chick deal and glad that we just gave because we wanted to. It would be nice to get a free chick but then I order about 50 at a time from them each year as well as some other hatcheries so I will just let the hatchery have their chick and I will still give back to my community in hopes that if I ever need help it will be there for me, too.

This is Meyer's way of giving and I applaud that!
