One didn't make it and the other was under the shipping mat hay thing in the corner and has something wrong with its leg so its in a separate pen, of course the one that passed was one of two silver laced Wyandotte, which was my favorite and the ones I picked out...lol, we have silkie and maran and frizzle eggs coming so hopefully we will have some bantams in a month and dark egg layers. So eggcited for my future farm life! :) <3

All 7 of mine made it this past September in New Orleans! It was super hot too. I was so worried. They shipped overnight and made it to the New Orleans distribution center, but then missed the truck to the northshore by about 3 hours. They arrived the next day at 5 a.m. at my local post office and they phoned right away and let me pick up before the post office opened.

The post office here doesn't answer the phone EVER! 401-769-6853, I tried calling ahead to let them know the chicks were coming but got no answer, they called me after 9 to tell me they were there. So Annoying., I think considering the two were the same breed that it may have been something besides the shipping that caused them to both pass. The one with leg has to stay separated until she gets good using the one leg. The other trample her. <3

My post office doesn’t answer the phone either. I had to drive down there to let them know they were arriving. They were super nice to me, they just don’t answer phone. I do have to say out of the 7 chicks the slw was the one worse for the wear after the shipping. She was lethargic for quite a few hours, but then perked up. She is the runt of the lot. She is also my least favorite bird. She is very skittish and has a mean streak lol! We got new babies after 9 weeks after the easter Egger turned out to be a Roo. She can be mean to them. She is 18 weeks old now. She is our only slw. We also have a gold laced, but she is pretty friendly.
